About me:

Deeply involved in amateur photography with Nikon since 1967. Recently sold all my Nikon equipment (principally 13 lenses and D2x) and used proceeds to get into M4/3 with the Olympus E-M5.

FrankParis' current gear

Olympus OM-D E-M5
Olympus PEN E-PM1
Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 14-42mm 1:3.5-5.6 II R
My bread and butter for static subjects
Mine is brown, not pink. I'm way too macho to buy a pink camera! But they wouldn't let me choose brown.
Surprisingly sharp; came with the E-PM1
Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-40mm 1:2.8 PRO
Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm 1:4-5.6 R
Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 60mm 1:2.8 Macro
a joy to use
Probably my sharpest lens. Heavily used.
Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 75-300mm 1:4.8-6.7
Panasonic Leica D Summilux Asph 25mm F1.4
Panasonic Leica DG Macro-Elmarit 45mm F2.8 ASPH OIS
Mine is black and series II; a joy to use
Amazingly sharp.
Haven't used it much because I have the 60mm Olympus
Panasonic Lumix G Vario 14-45mm F3.5-5.6 ASPH OIS
Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-200mm F4-5.6 OIS
Panasonic Lumix G Vario 7-14mm F4 ASPH
Wonderfully sharp, but it is now replaced by the Olympus 12-40mm f/2.8.
good lens, but way too much lens creep; not used after I got the Olympus 75-300
Seems to be more subject to purple flare than most samples
Other gear:
  • Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 60mm F2.8 Macro wonderfully sharp lens at all focus distances
  • RRS BH-40 Best RRS ball head for m4/3
  • RRS BH-55 Awesome ball head, but way overkill for M4/3; hold-over from my Nikon DSLR days
  • RRS-BH-25 Too simple and hard to use effectively
  • RRS-BH-30 BH-40 handles a lot better.
