Question...is the 50x zoom 50x from 24mmm to 1200mm ...not 50x equivalent from the normal 50mm lens of a 35mm camera ...that would be 2500mm wouldn't it? The optical zoom takes it to 2400 or...

I had both the HX100 and 200 and sold the 100... now I have a Canon SX50HS. The stills are better on the Canon, especially with that huge zoom...but the Sony cannot be beat for video quality.

the manual says that clips are recorded for 2-4 sec. before the still shot...... I wish it gave a total length of 5 sec with the still shot in the middle. Nice to capture the atmosphere...
