Matthew Miller: I wonder if it might make sense to have completely separate silver/gold awards for video and for still photography? They're really very different use cases, and I know there's a trend towards converged devices, but it's a shame that a camera which really focuses on being a great camera gets dinged in the awards because it's not a camcorder.
the absence of video feature/hope that/ .. may encourage manufacturers to use the great ccd sensors again !
fdfgdfgdgf: I thought after the Pentax K-30, DPreview will post full reviews only.
It may be better to hire a sufficient number of specialists to reduce the period of delay revisions.I f you agree Iam ready!hahah
pentax k5 body with fuji sensor and pentax litds lenses.
Mssimo: As the camera I have with me 99.9%..thank you DPreview for doing this review! Now back to work on those lens reviews! ;)
may be A quick review for k30 will be good .
Prognathous: No articulated screen... bad move Pentax.
well done keeping this perfect body and not using the sony 24 mp sensor. 16 mp sensor is trusted .
topstuff: Very good news !
This clearly indicates two things:
1, Ricoh have ambitions for the brand and plan to bring out more cameras.
2, While the K-01 is funky, strange and pretty left-field, and Pentax are to be praised for daring to be different, they also have new DSLR's in the pipeline.
This has made my day !
thanks ricoh..thanks pentax.go ahead!!your k01 is interesting and not like the others.it is k mount mirror less and that is all talks.!
John Mackay: I wish I could afford to fly to London to see this exhibition. I was so sad at his passing. I remember Yul Brynner mainly for his portrayal of the rogue cowboy in the movie Westworld and for for his role in the TV anti-smoking campaign when I was a kid (I'm 50 now) His words still ringing in my ears "Whatever you do, don't smoke." I never knew he was an avid photographer. I wish some of these exhibitions could make it online so to speak so everyone could enjoy them.
first time to know that he was a photographer.I like his films and his style.
they left me alone!!!
a little boys back home in a small egyotion village.
Elaka Farmor: wow
would like to be under 500$ but 600$ is reasonable also I will buy one in that price.
Almeida: A superzoom with a 2/3" should be interesting, depending on price.
fuji s100 was a great bridge camera but was expensive too.I hope the new x-s1 has the same image quality but with less price.regarding to the mirrorless I think it is the time for fuji to build its own mount.it is a shame that a company like fuji doesnt have a mount wheras small and new company to photography has many mounts like pentax/3 mounts/ panasonic/2 mounts/sony/3 mounts/ nikon/2 mounts/.why fuji wait for other to give it a licence to use a mount.mirrorless camers is new for all so all companies has the same chance in the market.
still not impressive as Ihope!
I think this camera will compete well in the market if the price is not more than 500$ with the kit.it is a new approach camera aimes to a part of people who want a dslr concept in a portable package.
