I talked about Camera RAW not Photoshop, so Capture One is a great alternative. I used it for our MF digital backs, switched in 2007 to Lightroom and we will start to use Capture One 7 again.

I shoot with my D800E RAW and JPG same time. But I use always JPGs, even in print, cause JPGs made by the D800 are fantastic. I just use the RAW file when I screwed things up.

I don't see the D300 in the Pro and D7100 as High End. I would Pro and High End put together with D3 series and D4 series, D800 and D700 and 600. The rest should be in the Consumer forum.
