About me:

I'm Online Editor and photographer at a four day a week paper in north metro Atlanta GA. I started out doing photo j stuff when I was in junior high on the yearbook staff,
with a Minolta 110slr (remember those?) in the 70's,
and have pretty much had a camera in my hand since.

  • I got an early one, and it's still as tight as the day I bought it.
  • A flash works by charging a capacitor, and then dumping that very high (300+) voltage into the flash tube, generating an arc.   On some old flashes, the camera essentially acted as a switch, and...
  • Send an email to lynn badillo at wilderness logistics.  PM me and I'll give you her email. I haven't contacted her in a while, but she's always been where I get my Pentax parts. Replacing the...
  • I can see where you're coming from. In fact, I've lived it. I had Minolta gear for years, and years-film first, then I bought a 7D as soon as they came out with it. I shoot for a living, so I was...
  • Tell you what...when you receive it, just carefully set it in the drawer and close it slowly.  If it even looks like it might damage the camera, just put it back in the box and send it to me, I...
  • Personally, I think I'll take a lot more photos WITH it than OF it, so I'm not that concerned with how it looks.  As long as the controls are well placed, and it fits in my hand, I'm good.  They...
  • Pentax is just ahead of the curve--introduce and upgrade that's basically the same thing, but in shiny new colors!   Wonder if Apple is paying them anything for blazing this trail? Jim Dean
  • I can imagine how frustrating that must have been. As others have said, I'd guess it's more of a lens issue than a body problem. That lens rotates a lot when going through the focus range, so if it...
  • 1 Would make me very, very happy, provided the low light ability is not compromised 9 Would also be great.  You can never have too much reach Personally, I'd settle for good low light performance,...
  • Simple...if you wanted the liability for the equipment, you'd own the business.  As a business owner, I've always accepted the liability for things that happen involving my business.  This...
  • I've had a K5 (original version) for a couple of years.  I also skipped the K20/K7 and moved from a K10.  Huge difference.  Sadly my K5 is at KEH for repairs to the flash shoe, so I'm shooting the...
  • Replied in KEH Question
I've bought from them before.  They do under rate stuff, so you should be fine.  I actually just sent my K5 to them yesterday to get the flash shoe fixed.  Somebody bumped me (hard) and it cracked...
