Yes, and yes.
Take a look at "The Other YN-622C Usewr Guide":

The Pixel packs with their twin charging circuits provide me with a 1.3 second recycle time from a full dump when used with the 580EXII.

Canon camera from 2007 on. Plus YN-622C.
Both flashes off-camera: 580EXII on a 622, fully controllable from camera;430EX on a 622, E-TTL controllable from camera but Manual levels set on-flash.

Yes, the YN-622C will work fine. The limitation is that Flash mode, Zoom and Manual levels must be set on-flash.
Sync mode, E-TTL with FEC and Ratio can be handled from your camera.

No. But you can use other radio or cable devices as a shutter release when you are using the YN-622C to control/fire flashes.
It takes 80 to 130 milliseconds after EOS camera shutter press for the...

Canon Speedlites do not play nicely with optical triggers.
Try it with the Master/Slave switch set to Off. The command pre-flashes "may" not be issued. I can't remember.
Otherwise, has your Metz...

Correct. And for any HSS-capable Speedlite.
And as Donald/ScratchDisk says, there are minor exceptions. As always!--Clive

The YN-622C could serve you well, at a low price. It has all the features that ChrisBurch is concerned about, and much more.
For the real story, read my TOYUG pdf...

The camera knows only that it has a Master in its hot-shoe, so does its normal Canob flash things. The camera does not know whether there are any flashes, or one or more remotes, with or without an...

At x-sync or slower, the Canon camera automatically defaults to 1st curtain. It will not invoke HSS on the 430EXII.
Usually, HSS can be left on so that you can shoot at higher speeds when...

Hi, Peter. The listing if the ABs in the Guide was based on repots with supporting images from some early users. A Google search for "Alien Bee 1600 YN-622" produced a number of images, but my...

24Peter - The low-powered but affordable AB1600 with the YN-622C IS marginal, but examples of successful supersync photos have been posted. Right circumstance, right settings.
I posted a response...

Jackie - you will be fine with the 622s! They work fully with your current gear, and after 5 months there have been few reports of failure and those have been promptly replaced.
For more details,...

Probably a bit late.
650D T4i makes full use of the YN-622Cs.Note that FEC can be set using the camera button or flash menu or Quick Panel. It can also be set on-flash, when it becomes cumulative...

I make L-brackets out of aluminium flat bar. This gets the flash on-axis, allows clamping for stability, and provides room for the YN-622s. I use a U-bracket for the octabox.
See P.19 in "The...

I would throw away the ST-E2, and get three YN-622C radio triggers.
One on-camera, one under remote flash, and one in pocket for test-firing. Will include firing an on-top flash, if wanted.
-
I was thinking about that. The 602 or 603 triggers do not respond to the 622 communications, regardless of channel. But they can be piggybacked.
#1 - 622 on CH 1 and on-top flashflash.#2 - ditto,...

Hi, Orr Zahavi. You did find some good radio gear, but there doesn't seem to be an answer to your particular problem.
I would be worried about flashes overheating, anyway.
-
It's not open to modifications like that. There is a huge 2-way data flow between the 622s. (And the camera, and each flash.)
Did you read P.9 and the suggestions from wedding photographers?
You...

That is how the YN-622s work, unfortunately. You can read more about this in "The Other YN-622C User Guide", especially P.9.
