Patty Capps: Great shot! -But just so you know...there are no wild crocodiles here in the US. We have Alligators -of which this is a fine specimen! -And it's a point of pride for the people from the state of Florida, where most of these reside! Cheers! :)
Thanks for taking time to comment about the photo. You're wrong about there not being crocodiles in Florida though. This picture of one was taken in a coastal wetland south of Miami. The extreme southern tip of Florida is the northernmost range for American Crocodiles. There aren"t nearly the number of crocs as there are alligators however and remain protected under state and federal statutes regarding threatened and endangered species.
Don't take my word for it, though - google it!
I agree it's important to be mindful of the differences between alligators and crocodiles - see 'The Purist' by Ogden Nash:
