  • #1 yes, #2 no. It's still DIGIC 5.
  • What is HSS? -- Jay B. "No...really...my camera made me do it..."
  • First, thank you for your responses - very helpful. Second, at $42.60 there wasn'the much risk, so I purchased one to try out. I like the idea of experimenting with multiple flashes wirelessly. -- ...
  • Created discussions Small Flash: 90EX vs 270EX
Fellow M Users, I own a Canon 270EX (not the II) that I use with my M occasionally. The 90EX is on sale - is there any reason I should buy it?
  • Unless you really need the money now. This camera is a jewel for the price. Within it's limited FL range, comparable images from the FZ200 will not be in the same dimension in color clarity, ...
  • If you go with the EF-S lens I would go with the 55-250 STM for $349, NOT the IS II version you mentioned. It has sharper characteristics and the silent, fast stepper motor for video.
  • Just my preferences, but I use the 18-55 much of the time. I use the 22 mm indoors in low light: (1) It's a great museum lens (2) Very good for low light with people and pets

Thanks for the samples, Howard. Very helpful!
  • Color, clarity, action, pattern, nature...all great. Love it. Thank you for sharing!
  • +2 to both of you. I tried three different Olympus, but Canon cams seem to have the knack of capturing the pics I envisioned while shooting.

  • I use the LensPen MiniPro - it works great on my SX230!

Abu, you've said this about the G1X MkII before. What exactly do you not like about the MkII lens?
  • I personally use the 18-55 mostly, with the 22 in certain situations - low light, family stuff, if I have time for tripod and can get the right FOV, etc. My next add will be the 55-250 EF-S STM + ...
  • Ben, on mine, I do the following: (1) Never shoot on Auto, use P or other mode (2) Reduce the size of the focus frame (Menu)
  • Hi gonzplays, It depends on your preferences. I have owned a G6 briefly, but ended up selling it. I currently own a EOS M and had possession of both for long enough to do my own comparisons. I will ...
  • Congratulations on your new addition! You mentioned the G1X in one of your replies. I own both and I think she might like the M better for people/family/general. The touchscreen shutter will solve ...
  • Try the Canon 55-250 EF-S STM. There are several posters on this forum that use it with the M - it is light and they report very sharp. Also, it has the stepper motor for better video AF.
  • Hello Steve, Don't know if this will help, 'cause neither camera will focus as fast as your 5D. I own the G1X and the M. First, the G1X is not as slow as all have said for the past 2.5 years, you ...
