VASEDENY1: To the host: my entry was DQd because the main subject, the crane was not tilted.
The tower was. So as the camera itself. And that was the exact purpose of my picture. Nevermind.
The objects must have a tilt in real life, read my comments below.
mutriu: To the Host: I don't believe you should DQ my entry because" The images here are tilted from the curved mirrored surface only".At least half of the other entries are to be DQ on this criteria. Actually, why don't you describe tilted by WHAT MEANS shoud things be instead of encouraging us to apply our creativity and then DQ some of entries on the basis of your own feelings!! Maybe you want somebody's pic to be the winner here, huh??
#1. The challenge says "Interpret as you wish but I will DQ if not directly relevant to title." I am looking for uniquely tilted objects.
#2. I did not foresee that entries would be submitted with just rotating or distorting. If I had thought of that it would have been in the rules.

l_objectif: TO THE HOST: You DQ me with the explanation the camera was not tilted (which was not true!)... But in most of the entries here, the camera is not tilted or the tilt was created in PP!...
I object (sorry, couldn't resist). May be a language barrier. Entry was not DQ'd because of camera tilt or not tilt. It was DQ'd because main object itself was not tilted other than by perspective. Any minor tilts in the roof did not pass the major theme test.
mirrorrorrim: I made the decision to DQ any entries where an actual object is not tilted - that is to say, no tilting the camera or image just to qualify for this callenge.
Or challenge, as the case may be. Sorry for the typo in the 18 entries I pasted this into.

Looks like a lot of pp where the colors were changed to red.
This challenge does not make a lot of sense to me.
JerryShots: Unable to enter a date the form will accept...So I guess I'm not tech savvy enough to enter..?
Jerry, not sure what the technical issue is. You should not be required to enter a date to submit an entry. Sounds like it is in DPR's end. Hope you can figure it out soon as the challenge is nearly filled. You might try to first import the image into your gallery and then submit it from there...
mirrorrorrim: I asked for a "close-up or cropped detail". Some of these entries meet that requirement better than others, I ask the voters to consider this while voting.
The problem is there is no defining criteria to establish what is considered a "close-up". Some are closer than others, some are cropped tighter than others. I DQ blatant ones but there are many borderline (no pun intended) that if I DQ one, then I set myself up for unfairly leaving the next one that is slightly more cropped, etc.
I asked for a "close-up or cropped detail". Some of these entries meet that requirement better than others, I ask the voters to consider this while voting.
Or maybe I will re-run this challenge only if I get at least 20 entries in my "Inside the Car Wash" challenge. Not many willing to do that one; more challenging than rust.
I will try to duplicate this challenge in the near future.
I don't think that clocks on towers and hanging clocks are wall clocks.
Michael Leek: I had my entry - of the River Clyde - disqualified because the host decided my image wasn't recognisable as a river! Unbelievable! On the basis of this narrow, blinkered and stupid judgement the host of this challenge has decided that a vast number of rivers around the world are not rivers because in his crazy and ignorant opnion they DO NOT LOOK LIKE RIVERS!!!
A host has the right to DQ any photo that he want for any reason he feels is appropriate. It is his challenge, he has dedicated his time and effort to it. If he wants to only include traditional and non-questionable rivers, that is his perogative. Give the hosts praise, not ridicule, or there may be less and less of them. Until you host a challenge you don't realize the effort that it takes.
"Line" is in some cases being loosely interpreted.
I will leave it up to the voters to consider this when voting, there are too many grey areas as to what constitutes a line.
