You have to understand that the sales of these are limited compared to computer tech. Where computers can afford to change over tech often from the high turnover rate it is not the same for our...

Hi,
Sorry been busy but both of these of the moon are 100% pixel crops. I actually do a lot of such crops for the screen backgrounds I make. Even the 300mm, or 480mm equivalent, just doesn't get me...

I so far am keeping the 40D around as a spare.............
-
I tend to like to make my own wall papers the old 40D compared to the new 7D older picture of the moon with the 40D but both clear nights with the same 70-300mm is usm non L lens. I really like...

Thanks, this worked perfectly............

My bet here is the graphic of where the blocks are is not 100% accurate. In other words looking at the whole block of points they cover just 30% top to bottom of the scene area, leaving 30% or so...

it figures though the standard lenses are not included. know they say the data base will expand but it has not to the standard lenses or at least the is versions of the 28-135 and 70-300 as kit...

To be honest I would much rather have the present 18mp size but with a revised sensor that was 1/2 to a full f/stop faster! higher MP only really helps in making larger prints. Other than true...

I have to disagree a bit with you here. You have to remember the shooter is interested in catching action from one particular player not necessarily of the sporting event itself. Now if it were for...

The idea behind the forum is so that if there is a problem a cause can be identified. From there hopefully either a resolution or satisfactory solution can be found. The idea too is a building of...

Updated, thanks for the catch and keeping us posted..............

I went back to 0 for the MFA on the 28-135. I tried out with the EOS utility on the PC looking at 200% and the best results were at 0. I have to try it out with the 70-300 now.
-
I just did the MFA for the 70-300mm IS and the kit 28-135mm lenses both took -3 for best results at the widest ends. While neither is a L lens the results are great compared to not adjusting it.

Personally I stay away from software crops or zooms within a camera. If the shot is that hard up for it I'll do it in post processing. IMHO all that is needed is the RAW file and I save camera...

I just purchased a 7D from BB. It came with firmware 2.0.0 and I immediately put in 2.0.3. I tried several times with the kit lens to replicate a shake in live view but to no avail...............

Right, there is always something better around the corner. At the time the 7D came out I wanted it but pricing was too high and I hate being an early adopter when the 40D was working so well for...

Actually I am leaning to a 17-55mm EF-S 2.8 IS USM to replace the kit........
-
I usually use Canon stuff as in batteries. Unfortunately the L lenses are Canon as well. My next project is a 70-200mm f/2.8 IS USM II. I also want to improve upon the kit lens. I am leaning toward...

I have a 40D from quite a while back. I had been hedging and hawing about a 7D for a while now and just found BB had a sale for 1399 for it with a 28-135mm kit lens. So I could not resist any...
