The Nikon D5100 can be had with kit lens for $550.00  Wonderful deal on a great camera.

Shoot for the E-PM2 on sale.  The add perhaps the 20/1.7 when possible.

Sony RX100 (not all requirements but very good and very pocket able)

Tilt Shift is the way to go if you want the top results.  Otherwise wide angle and with a APS-C camera that would be a zoom.  Also if you go Tilt shift you really need to upgrade to FF to make it...

I would suggest the LX7 for macro from a P&S.

The Zeiss 21mm is exceptional but Manual Focus and expensive.    I would recommend 28/1.8G 85/1.8G   Then likely the Nikon or Sigma 35mm or the Zeiss 21mm.

You could also use Adobe Lightroom.  Well worth $119.00 (or the current asking price).

The RX-100 is very nice.  It is what I shoot.  Larger and less money is the Panasonic LX-7.

The E-PM2 is a real deal.  same sensor as the OM-D. and nice and small for traveling.

The LX7 has  a nice macro capability.

If you find you like the 60D I would wait for the 70D or 7D mk ii.  If anything they will drive prices down...  Still recommend the D7100 over the D60.

Over budget but the Fuji EX-1 with 18-55 lens is really nice.   The Olympus OMD  (EVF though) The Olympus E-PM2 (No viewfinder)

The 60D is a bit older of a design.  Of the three I would go with the D7100 or OMD.  The D7100 if you are going to buy a 70-200mm f2.8 lens and or a 300mm lens and possibly even shorter with plans...

You could go with:  24-120mm f 4 85/1.8G  (portrait and perhaps some indoor sports) 28/1.8G

I think if it is broken you do have a two year warranty through Costco...

How well does the 60mm for Macro?  Thoughts and/or pics appreciated.

What are folks favorite P&S other than S95-S100-S110?  Looking for solid recommendations in the lower price ranges for a P&S.

Not as pocket able but you might consider the Oly EPM-2 with kit lens.  It has dropped to $385 at times and is often at $425.  Tomorrow is a huge sale day.  The sensor on the camera is good enough...

It does not handle close up real well.  Perhaps that is it?
