  • Commented on Hands, feet, and tails challenge

o.O well if someone thinks that their trouser snake is a tail, they'd better go and read up on anatomy. And evolution.

As always, I will disqualify any submissions that don't follow the rules, or...

  • Commented on The Pergola in the A trick of the eye challenge

I can confess to moving my browser window and lining up the edges of the pergola with the bottom of my screen...

Great submission, the mind works in mysterious ways!

  • Commented on A trick of the eye challenge

I don't expect there to be a huge number of submissions. It is a difficult challenge, sure – but that is not an invitation to bend the rules to suit yourself.

I also think you misread my comment....

  • Commented on A trick of the eye challenge

    *sigh*

Out of the first five entries, I have disqualified all five. Please, folks – pay attention to the challenge description! I ask for photos that are an optical illusion, and I mean this quite...

  • Commented on All tuckered out challenge

I have disqualified the most egregious offenders. Still, 5 disqualifications and 24 eligible entries seems to be an unusually high ratio...

  • Commented on Reptiles and Amphibians up close challenge

At the moment, I count three (two with falsified EXIF, one with no EXIF), so I guess there have been some disqualifications and a new round of rule-breakers.

It seems par for the course that...

  • I wonder if the huge "LUMIX" lettering rubs off as well...

  • Commented on Don't blink! challenge

There are plenty of fantastic entries here. I'm looking forward to seeing the voting turnout... it's going to be a close one!

    Famous again!

  • Commented on Why so serious? challenge

Competitors, please read the rules! Some of the entries do not meet the rules of the challenge and I will have to disqualify them.

May I remind you of the definition of quizzical: "(of a person's...

  • Well he's not 100% wrong. It's probably as good as a 6-megapixel D40 in bright daylight. Every manufacturer makes dubiously boastful, qualitative claims about their product's superiority.

  • Commented on search & rescue at yosemite in the Living dangerously challenge

Thanks for noticing! I'm not sure what other action can be taken, but I can at least disqualify the image.

  • Commented on M16 in the Astro photography challenge

Haha, sadly not – but the 46200 mm at f/11 is no lie! This was take with the William Herschel Telescope.

  • Commented on Astro photography challenge

Why is EXIF data required? Do you purposefully mean to restrict submissions to images taken with consumer-level cameras? Monochrome CCDs that are made for astronomical imaging don't usually do EXIF.

  • Commented on Loneliness challenge

New entrants: please take care with your submissions. I have disqualified more entries than I would like to – it can be hard to draw a line – but the emotion of loneliness or isolation should be...
