CurtM: I am a bit confused as to how this camera fits in the line up. I have a Eos70d -- bought because I am rather new to photography and it was great at video too. If I were to upgrade one day (if I ever get to the point where I am not the limiting factor but rather the camera is -- and I am not yet at that point), why would one consider this cropped frame camera over the Eos 6D or 5D with full frame? The price difference seems to be rather marginal.

CurtM, the 7d II is far superior to your 70d, even tough they share the same sensor but it's AF, built quality, overall handling is going to be top notch, that APS C or full frame debate is crap, I heard most folks said about why not full frame, this camera will never going to be full frame, and some photographers will always choose Crop sensor over full frame, if you do wildlife or some kind of action, crop might be the better options, remember canon has a full frame sensor right, they used to have a 1.3 crop sensor like the 1d IV or 1d III (They killed that crop 1.3), now since the 1.6 crop sensors like 70D, 7D and lower is alive, they need to make at least one model which is going to be state of the art APS C like the 7D which is king to be very similar to the flagship 1D X in term of AF, responsiveness and the ability to get more reach without using canon longest white glasses !

Five Piece: This will be a fantastic camera, just like the Mk I is a fantastic camera, but really much better overall. One thing I really like is the locking mode dial like in the 5D, I am always changing that accidentally when I remove it from the camera bag. The Live View phase detect focus is a much welcomed new feature I will use often. And "4x weather sealing" can only be a good thing, my 7D has been shooting in pouring rain and snow, never a problem. What a camera!

Five piece, you are awesome, most these reviewers in here are just talking craps, at least I see somebody who used the original 7d on the way it deserved!

sheckwel: I disagree is most comments, I think this camera has vast improvements over the original 7D, I didn't test and put my hands ON on the 7d II but am pretty sure it's speed, responsiveness , handling are going to be terrific, it;s aim to be an APS C size Pro camera (How some folks say why it's not full frame) It's never going to be full frame, it's aim to be for sports, actions, wildlife shooters who need more reach because of it's 1.6 crop sensor, it's AF is going to be outstanding, others folks are complaining about 10 FPS is low (you will not going to get $6799 camera like the 1D X specs on a $1799 camera) Thanks they didn't put smartphone features on the 7d like WIFI/touch, crappy swivel, theses features means less weather sealing and since the 7d II is going to be used for most actions/wildlife shooters, they are going to need a tough metal camera!
If you really need 4K or you want to act like a Pro videographer go get the 1d C with only $15.000 or new 2014 smartphones :-)

Sirok, 4K is the future doesn't mean all camera should have 4k, There is some features specially on video, it doesn't make sense the manufacturer to put them in certain model, If canon include 4k on the 7d, 5d mark iv or whatever, who is going to by the 1d c with it's scary price, and the thing is including 4k, or others gimmicky features on a model will make it more expensive and the people who use that model will not use all those gimmicks , Jump on Board.

Does this lens works with Canon 1.3 APH C sensors like the 1D mark III or 1D IV!

In good lighting situation the Nexus 5 can take great images, I prefer the images coming from my nexus 5 than my HTC ONE, have them both!

On Canon releases promised Firmware v2.0.0 for EOS 7D article (104 comments in total)

Bravo canon, some people think that there will be no 7D Mark 2.
Since the 1.3 sensors cameras are dead, the next 7D will be a killer camera and still adopting the 1.6 sensors with the same and sophisticated AF of the Flagship 1D X and will shoot up to 10 FPS with a bunch of new features, wildlife and sports shooters will be very happy for the next flagship APS C with a stronger and better built.
I am going to start saving like how I did with the 1D X, the current 7D will be outstanding for many years again even when the 7D 2 is out.
