  • Hi Steve, We're glad to be of service !! Every photo is a challenge sometimes. But then it's also fun - that's why we do it !! So next time you happen to fly this way maybe I could cadge a lift !! ;-)

  • Hi Claude, Here's the retouch on the mouth with your edit: What do you think ?? See what Steve (OP) thinks when he next checks in. Regards, Richard
  • Hi Claude, Yes - maybe if I can do your edit justice by closing the mouth - then it will be a combined effort !! Must be worth a try perhaps !! Regards, Richard
  • Hi Claude, Nice one !! Now maybe Steve will prefer that - looks a cool dude !!! Regards, Richard
  • Hi Steve, Original (enlarged and de-noised) is here: http://upload.pbase.com/zorpie/image/154360765/original Hope that helps. Regards, Richard

Hi Steve, The version I 'manipulated' and posted was the same size as the original (ie 1920 X 1080 pixels and upped to 300dpi) but I have increased the size to 3840 X 2160 pixels and at 300dpi ...
  • Hi Daviskw, That's not bad either !!! How did you do it - always interested to know ?? Regards, Richard
  • Hello Claude, Thanks for the comment - I did it with the Liquify Tool in Photoshop of course !! But it is a pretty low res image so not a lot of work in reality ;-) - took about 10 minutes. Regards, ...
  • Hi Steve, Best I could do !!! No doubt there are others who will do much better !! Regards, Richard

Hi Ray, I thought I'd do another - very slight HDR from the first attempt and added a slight vignette. Hope you don't mind - but I quite like this image and it gives a lot of scope for manipulation ...

Hi Toermaljin, Thank you very much for the links - very useful !! Regards, Richard
  • Hello Ray, Nice photo - thought I'd give it two goes !!! Hope this finds you well ?? I see you have a D800 - me too got it back in November last year - great minds think alike !! Regards, Richard
  • Hello Crosstype, A good and informative post. Thanks for taking the time to do these tests. As a D800 owner I have been following all the posts on this topic. I will admit that in real life ...
  • Hi Zoso777, I use a Rocket Blower on the dried swabs - don't blow them off when they are wet as the dust particles you may have picked up on your sensor will stick to the damp swab. I blow them ...
  • Hi Soloryb, Been following the thread but not been online for a few days what with Christmas and New Year committments. Yes - you can use the sensor swab twice - you actually flip it over. One swab ...
  • Hi Soloryb, Yes - that's one thing about using brushes on the sensor - you rapidly find that the bristle splay is the problem. The only one (as I mentioned) that I use and comes in at a reasonable ...
  • Hi, A loupe will not show up the smaller dust specks. I have learned this from experience and now do not use a loupe at all. It might be OK for the bigger dust bunnies and oil specks but it is of ...
