Charles Babbage: For all I understand people in the US pay through the nose for simply being alive. Alas it is comming to Europe, Great Britain being the pacemaker, and it is sad to say the least. We are the only species that has to pay to live on the planet through idiotic notions such as 'private property', 'tax payer's money' and 'free enterprise'. Free IT IS NOT! Everybody pays under this scheme ...

"I may make you feel but I can't make you think.
Your sperm's in the gutter your love's in the sink.
So you ride yourselves over the fields and
you make all your animal deals and
your wise men don't know how it feels to be thick as a brick."
Very apt lyrics from Jethro Tull. You can always ask dpr to have me banned. By the way, at least you know what I look like. Why are you hiding?

It would be nice if you commented on my posts and NOT on me. What I posted was a totally US incident. Is it true or not? This is what counts. By the way I DO NOT wish I was American. I am happy of what I am, thank you :-). And fiinally, here is another one for you to come to terms with http://mobile.wnd.com/2009/06/101473/ Kisses ;-)

In the vain hope that you might realize that you are kep in a vegetative state by your government and the media and you believe every piece of crap they feed you. Time to wake up and face reality. "Do you know you are being led to slaughters by placid admirals & that fat slow generals are getting obscene on young blood, do you know you are ruled by TV." / Jim Morrison

westerner: We need someone prominent to get fined so they can start a lawsuit and stop this nonsense. I thought Federal land was public land...Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez would be so proud at how far toward Communism the US has come. This is just another of the many freedoms we have lost to big brother.

Communisim is one thing my friend, big brother is another. In the US you never had real freedom and you never will unless you wake up and do something about it ...

William Woodruff: Just a quick note while you have time to change this: You do not have your title watermarked in your border as specified in the rules.

Apologies and thanks, I will withdraw it and resubmit it with border and title.

Why on earth every mobile phone manufacturer tries to copy everybody else’s design is beyond me. Holding a tile in your hands and/or next to your ear is not exactly elegant and it certainly does not take better pictures. Even the unofficial name for such monsters 'phablet' sounds demeaning. No wonder that the N8 still sells at a good price in eBay and elsewhere :-(

On Underwater mystery in the What Is This? – III. challenge (6 comments in total)

So, it is a plastic buoy ditched 8 meters bellow the water surface standing 2 meters over the sea floor. The real colour is yellow and the white strands are actually squid eggs. In this respect OldArrow was almost there in guessing what it is. The white markings on the buoy itself are the standard barnacle like creatures that take over covering every surface possible under the water. Thanks for visiting ...

It still puzzles me that none seems to "remember" the K5-IIs! Not even the dpreview people. Do I smell something bad or is it my imagination?

On Fly by in the Concept Gone Awry - Nice Shot! challenge (1 comment in total)

I was only aiming and framing for the building and wanted to include the old fashioned street lamp to contrast the modern with the classic. The seagul happened to be flying by but with the slow shutter speet it came out as a blur but I liked the effect of having some 'motion' included in the otherwise static image. The only post processing that I did is to erase a tiny part of the window I was taking the photograph through on the upper right corner.

RuthC: This interesting capture was taken in Greece, near the sea.
I think these are some type of parasites' or mites' eggs, but I hope someone out there will know more about this unusual phenomenon. All assistance gratefully received. Ruth :-)

Thank you!!!
