Nick,
I don't suspect that anyone contributing to this forum has received compensation for promoting or defending Sigma cameras. If they did..,you won't find about that based on voluntary...

Daisy,
Thank you for fair and well balanced view as well as kind words about my V1 grip, at least regarding aesthetics. I have no question about that needs and preferences are very individual...

Hi Alexander,
I would like to congratulate you on your achievement. Maybe this is something that many of EF lens users (myself included) were waiting for. Alternative approach which neither Sigma...

Hi Vieri,
I would expect no less from you. Simply magnificent.
I'm curious, since you have trio of DPMerrils, do you think that building SD1 system makes much sense (except tele-reach of course)?...

Not sure about that. In case of Canon G7 there were numerous free "hacks" enabling useful functions of the cam like RAW recording of images (if I remember well). This lead to implementation of RAW...

Believe it or not but time to time this request came across my feedback.
I Would love to serve all possible circumstances and I always do in specific cases including free of charge common...

When I started pioneering add-on grips in 2007 for Canon Powershot G7 (way before anyone thought about the concept), I have never thought that the aftermarket accessory could provoke reactions...

With a bit of luck you can possibly succeed with large autofocus point of SD1. Some other cameras have precision autofocus point option for spot focusing on small detail so they could be a better...

The unimaginable could be the best solution.
Some of the veterans claim that they can get 100+ shots from single battery. You have to ask them how they do that.
Since shooting with DP cameras...

Interesting and very well executed take on still life in B&W. I like it a lot!
Thanks for sharing,

You are absolutely right Vieri. The RRS universal bracket should work fine with the grip. I was under impression that OP meant the dedicated DPM bracket (+grip).
Thank you for clarifying the...

Alternate lens mount SD1 makes sense to you or me but not to most folks in here or Sigma themselves (yet). Eventually, if Sigma wants to make meaningful DSLR sales, they'll reconsider such option.

I don't think that my grip is compatible with RRS L bracket. I would say that it would be better to purchase the RRS set than pair my grip with their bracket.
On the other hand JTec universal L...

"On Flickr, the 37,619 photos taken with the SD1 Merrill edition is only about half the 70,518 shots uploaded Monday with a Canon 5D Mark III."
If this is true, there is a chasm between popularity...

Many "rumors" are planted by manufacturers themselves. As long as the source of info is revealed I have no problem to accept the "news".

I guess that you have misread my post. It was not addressed to Larry.

Hi Larry,
First off I would like to thank you for continuous contributions to this forum which I do enjoy a lot. Your weekly thread for Sigma pictures is awesome and in my mind it is something all...

They use Canon 1D series or Nikon equivalent with appropriate lenses.
Superior to what? No offense to Larry but any P&S at 100mm zoom is capable of the same if not better results.
I think that...
