Nice sound card from the 16bit era :D
EmmanuelStarchild: I'm a little confused here. Dxo pretty much slammed the Canon 70-200 2.8 IS II, while you guys gave it your 'gold' award. How exactly is the merging of your reviews going to rectify such a huge difference of opinion?
DXO's data are very good. Their testing methodology is great. What they(dxo) do with that data is the problem. Their metrics are COMPLETELY USELESS.
So it is great that DPreview will combine their photographic common sense and the perfect dxo testing in their reviews! Thumbs up from me to DPreview!
Panasonicus: Canon will respond with the 3d within 90 days--a simplified and much cheaper 5d Mk III. Rip-off Britain will maintain the 50% price premium over the US which is why I only buy in the US when I visit! I am wondering if a super cheap (!!!) FX will sell that well as it seems the mass consumer and frugal enthusiast market is moving to DSLE's manufactured by Olympus and Panasonic. I moved to a G3 after getting fed up with travel restrictions on a camera bag which is now your only piece of allowable luggage on many airlines. Also, the weight of a DSLR plus 3 lenses is burdensome when you can pack a Panny G3 and a couple of lenses in a tiny belt-mounted bag. But if weight and size does not matter the idea of a cheap FX is quite compelling.
It can't be named 3d though. That would imply that it is something between 5d and 1d. So 6d it is :DOh wait, I think Canon has a camera at this price point. It is called 5d mkII
