About me:

HAVE PurchaseD an IST*Ds and see if my Canon G2 can reach 200,000
shots..(EDIT)...I
don't think so but **EDIT: my Canon G2 did not reach 200K ..it was kind of halted at
about 86K when I got my IST*Ds (in Dec 2004) which went on to about 88K when it
got replaced by my 2nd K200D in Mar 09 :D. Got a Pentax K-r in Dec 2010 and a Pentax Q (w/ Prime and FishEye) in Sept 2011 :) and added the O2 (Wide Angle Zoom) and O6 (Tele Zoom) to the Q, as well as, adding a Ricoh GR IV this past May 31, 2013 and, after thrashing my Q and 06 lens, I know have a Q7 and another 06 lens :D

Marty4650: When the term "superzoom" was first coined, it meant cameras with a zoom range of 12X or greater.

But today you are reviewing camers that range from 50X to 83.3X zoom range.

Isn't it time to give these cameras a new name, to set them apart from what we used to call superzoom cameras?

Ultrazoom? Megazoom?

Ridiculous, indeed, Jeff ….but, oh so much fun and cool :D

munro harrap: A Good Deal?

A Good deal is when these guys make you a print themselves in a darkroom and develop, stop, fix, and wash them properly themselves, and sign them in person in ink when the print is dry (of course!) .

Art is a product of the very best that the artisan can do, not a machine scan or a print made by a commercial darkroom or a digital printer.

ART is a standard. Many of these snaps dont meet that standard. That they are made by famous people is irrelevant.

@ Kaj ….. one phrase "don't lower yourself" ;)

"Making stupid remarks is not. " Well, I'm glad, Munro, that you don't place yourself above that category: " Spock out!" :D

Hi Munro,

I'm in luck, I'm attending a News Photographers Conference, next month, where Mr. Moore is one of the speakers, so, I'll be able to let him know that one of DPR's finest thinks his, Mr. Moore and the others, photos no better than your average photographer, **yourself included, I'm guessing(?)**, could take on an average day .

xmeda: 1) Instead of HSS upgrade to build-in flash they killed easily portable wireless flash ability on PRO body.. I don't want to carry two flashes
2) No articulated or touch-control LCD
3) No wifi
4) Ugly implementation of GPS on top, with stupid GPS button instead of flash-deploy button.
Sticking with K5 waiting for proper upgrade..

btw:

D750 has flash (and articulated LCD), D610 has, D7200 has, Canon EOS7DII has, EOS70D has. All of them boasting about wireless flash control..

@ Xmeda …. the D750 has a tilting LCD screen which is not to be confused with the fully articulating screen of the KS-2 ;)

Peter K Burian: This is supposed to compete with Lightroom????

I use a Windows PC but many of my friends loved APERTURE .... Does Apple believe there's no demand for **advanced** photo editing software??? .......... More likely, they realized that they cannot compete with Adobe. ... Lightroom 5.6 for Mac is available now http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5822

No idea when Lighroom 6 will be available but it should be fabulous http://photorumors.com/2015/02/27/adobe-lightroom-6-hdr-merge-video-leaked-online/

I don't have Yosemite, Peter, but I use Aperture, almost exclusively, for the IPTC portion when sending pics to magazines, newspapers, et al. I'm guessing, that "PHOTOS" does not have that capability?
