On Nikon 1 V3: a quick summary article (597 comments in total)

I have 2 Nikon V1 bodies and set of lenses and FT1 adapter. I did'nt buy a V2 and see no reason to buy a V3 - its just too expensive and I really don't understand what Nikon are doing with their 1 Series strategy.

I finally cracked and decided that Thom Hogan is right - leave the 22mm lens in place and you have a very pocketable camera which can certainly rival the Nikon A, Ricoh GR nd other luxury single fl cameras at a bargain basement price. My initial analysis is that IQ is very good and AF is a little slow. Anyway, my point is don't dismiss this camera out-of-hand ...... actually its pretty good.

robinl59: I read this article with great interest and really wanted to buy the Nikon 7700 - especially since I am a Nikon DSLR user with compatible flash etc. But then I looked at the price and considered a P7100. In the UK you can buy a new P7100 for £229 whilst the P7700 costs at least £150 more. Would I feel/see the benefit? Now I like the latest technology as much as the next man but ....... I bought a P7100 and really don't regret it.

I don't question the improvements of the P7700. My post simply questioned the value of the improvements over the P7100 taking into account the price differential.

Does the V2 allow continuous AF with the FT-1 adapter and AF-S lenses?
