While not illegal to do what he did, the photographer should be sensitive to the modern world of child predators. A day doesn't go by without a story in the media. And to see someone on a beach,...

A Mamiya 645 AFD II. My first foray into MF and it's quite and experience. Nice to simplify the photo experience again. --"You're guaranteed to miss 100% of the shots you don't take" - Wayne...

Oh Nikon. You mention "auto mode" as a feature and then say $999.00 with lens. Contour just folded shop cause they couldn't compete with GoPro. If the fire sale on 1's recently is any indication on...

That's great. I did a similar shot a few years ago from the same spot! I think it needs to be in colour. B&W doesn't do it justice!--"You're guaranteed to miss 100% of the shots you don't take" -...

With everybody gushing over the new m4/3 Olympus camera I actually want to and went the other way, bigger than 35mm/FX; I picked up a pristine Mamiya 645 AFDII with a 80 f/2.8 lens and 120/220 film...

Sell your 2.8 lenses and buy variable aperture lenses ending in 5.6. You will have the same DOF as the Olympus, lighter lenses, heavier wallet and you keep your Nikon system. Easy.

The first memory card I bought was in 2005. 512mb for $80. Now you can buy terabyte drives for the same. 256Gb flash card may sound like a lot but at 4K video, it will fill up fast. If you're...

Agreed. I just don't understand why the photographer wouldn't simply say "sorry, I'm not available that day, but I can recommend X Y Z photographer in the area". Leave it at that. No reason, no...

I've had the D800 since the day it was released. I'm still learning its nuances. For a long time I found it was only reliable in AF-S. I had it in 9 point AF-S and even then I didn't trust it...

Indeed. I was at the Nikon Canada office recently and they had a refurbished D600 for $1500. Beside it was a refurbished D700 for $2000.

I am a wedding shooter for hire/semi-pro whatever you want to call it. Started the digital era with a D80 and D40x (you bet!). I moved upto a D300/D90 combo, D700/D7000 and now use a D3s/D800...

That is tremendous help, thank you. I don't expect these images to go beyond web use and brochure material for their use. Update; we figured his needs are about 15 images. I told him $85 per image...

Ok, but you'll be waiting for a while for a still camera from Canon to produce 4K video. Currently there are more dedicated options for your purpose. --"You're guaranteed to miss 100% of the shots...

The D3/D3s was a 5 year product cycle. The D4 hasn't been around for 2. You may bye waiting a while. Maybe a RED is more your thing? --"You're guaranteed to miss 100% of the shots you don't take" -...

Hi all,How do you charge for product photography? I mostly shoot weddings which has its own pricing structure. But a friend owns a lifting loung chair company that caters to home health care. There...

Michael Phelps, U.S. swimmer, won a gold medal after a D3 in the pool confirmed he touched first. High FPS is good to have when you need it. --"You're guaranteed to miss 100% of the shots you don't...

Among the current generation of Nikon bodies, the DX cameras are woefully short on buffer capacity. The D7100 I think has a 12 shot RAW buffer and the D4 is over 100. So a D4 could conceivably...

Yes. Sell your D90. Your 17-55 on the D7000 and 70-200 on a D600 will be a killer combo. You will not miss your D90. --"You're guaranteed to miss 100% of the shots you don't take" - Wayne...

"The D3s is a very capable camera in low light, but is also the worst FF DSLR ever in anything else..., in good light it's visibly worst than both the D700 and D3 and its studio performance is...
