qwertyasdf: Seems there are only 2 companies that is genuinely passionate about photography.....Sigma and Cosina (Voigtlander) Others... Leica is just a name Hasselblad is a lunacy Sony and Nikon are OK Pentax will go out of business (though i really think they should be the one to bring out a 1.8 zoom, given that they "all-in-ed" the APSC format) Don't even mention Canon......
If anybody mentions you, I shall defend you, Fuji, you're doing a pretty good job IMO.

rbach44: I really wanted to try it out, but it is only available for OS 10.7.
Very very disappointing...
Damn. I really don't want to upgrade to Lion - I've already downgraded this Mac-Mini to Snow Leopard from Mountain Lion because I found both upgrades increasingly awful.
Think I'm going to come off the Mac platform though anyway - not nearly as 'wonderful' as I thought it would be.

walliswizard: An observation: He's achieved what many of us will never do. Fame. Or Infamy perhaps. His photos suck. Some would say William Eggleston's suck. Some would say they are art. Whatever, most of us have heard of WE's photos and they are a topic of discussion. Johnny T here has done something nobody else has done - something different, and that has got people talking. People may refer back to this for years to come, who knows.
Somebody paid $.25m for a pic of a child's bike, didn't they?
(true though, these pics still suck)
Yeh, why not....
Elliott Erwitt does a mean dog pic or two.... and no trucks were involved.

Nope, looks boring, no viewfinder, too expensive, f/2.8 not fast enough for what this camera will be used for (a lot of indoor, low-light use I'd imagine).
X100S blows this away, and I'm sure there are others too....

Had a play with one today at Focus-on-Imaging. Fabulous camera, would sell my soul for one, or near enough! Seriously good EVF compared to my X100 (which isn't *bad*), fast enough focusing for me at least, nice size, liked the lens that was on the test units (35 1.4). Yes please!

walliswizard: D800 is a great camera, but unlike the D700 it seems like it will always need great glass, a super-powerful computer, and a good technique to get the best from it.
The D700 on the other hand was/is an awesome camera that could be used by a lot more people.
So it seems to me the D800 is great but is very much in the pro-user league. I do hope Nikon fills the gap somewhat with a 16-20MP D700s (D750?) for the rest of us...
Good, I just hope they improve the lenses I can afford!!

I'd have to factor in a viewfinder of some sort for this, just out of personal choice, but it is a cool little camera that's for sure.

Seems like quite a logical fix to me.

Love the way they've made the body as thick as your average small car, yet they'll sell you a superslim pancake lens to put on it.....
Anyway, sorry Pentax - love some of your stuff, but this one is just 'orrible!
