If you're not shooting indoors or entirely at night, the combination of the 7D with the 70-300L is wonderful, albeit not exactly cheap. The 15-85 is a nice walkaround lens and useful as a second...

Really nice shots...especially 4 and 5. Taking pics like these gets harder as the kids get older and faster, but it's still a whole lot of fun! Thanks for sharing!

Than you. I hadn't actually noticed the blown highlights as they don' affect the goalkeeper's face...though, now that you've mentioned it I can see some problems in the ball. As you can see it was...

Most of the photography I do is sports-related; a lot of it low light. That being said, my experience exactly matches Keith's across the board...but most importantly for me is the considerably...

The 5DIII is great for low light, especially indoors where reach is less of an issue. But it's not cheap. I own a 7D which I use for football, soccer, and rugby...the extra reach the crop sensor...

Great shots....especially the second to last one. It looks like it was shot from lower down giving a stronger feel, plus, I like the expression captured. Great work.

I'm not GPapa, but I have used both the 5DIII and the 7D with the same lens in night time outdoor sports shooting. I found there was a learning curve where, by trial and error, I found that I like...

By way of example of what I was trying to say above, ...take a look at the posts from GPapa on this forum.

As I see it most of your shots here are overexposed. It looks like you shot with aperture priority and ISO 1600 and let the shutter speed slide. This led to motion blur in a lot of the photos; the...

Your shots look great given how poor most HS gyms are!! I can only see a few where the AF isn't quite where you'd want it. I have good luck holding the right focus point with the 7D. In AF single...

Hi All:I was able to borrow a 5DIII from my employer for rugby last friday. I was astounded at what it could do under poor high school lighting, in the rain, using a 70-300L (4.5-5.6) and covered...

I am one of those throw backs who preferred the old iMovie HD over the newer iMovie as, in my opinion, it offered a bit more control than the newer version. If you can track one down second hand...

I am able to borrow camera bodies from my employer from time to time. Back when I had an old Pentax K1000 digital of my own I would borrow a 5DII for lower light sports. The noise level is...

Thank you all for the feedback. I had forgotten to mention that the 7D also worked really well with a 100-400L...but I have never used that lens in poor light. I will try the 5DIII with the 70-300L...
