Oooops... on my monitor, it lost again some contrast ! (plus it gained a ohhhh very slight yellowish tint !) ;-) J-P. Photo Galleries at http://www.pbase.com/scherrer Spherical Panoramas at ...

Great job, David ! Now it looks like you managed to recover the +/- same contrasts, but slightly lightened the whole image and added a bit more details in the clouds ! I LOVE what one can do in ...
  • Replied in Jpeg only
Yes, yes, yes..... Pleeeease ! ;-) J-P. Photo Galleries at http://www.pbase.com/scherrer Spherical Panoramas at http://www.360cities.net/profile/jps

I was going to make the same suggestion ! Just one thing though: what else did you do apart from correcting the perspective, as it looks that the image has lost quite some contrast in the process ! :-O
  • Hi Dennis ! This is a no-issue, as I know that the Nikon DF was the last DSLR body to be updated in CNX2 ! The laters D810 allready is not (and won't be) recognized ! ....and it's -unfortunately- ...
  • Replied in RAW only !
....because, using Nikon(s) cameras and Capture NX2 converter, the software recognize the in-camera settings, and I can keep them, change them, delete them as much as I want ! Hence, I can use my ...
  • Definitely +1 !! :-) J-P. Photo Galleries at http://www.pbase.com/scherrer Spherical Panoramas at http://www.360cities.net/profile/jps
  • ....is -first- because I started with CNX since the beginning, hence I'm used to it... But also because it's the ONLY software that recognize in-camera settings !! So I do about 95% of my ...
  • Thanks guys ! Your comments confirms that, as I'm allready "at ease" with the use of Photoshop for my post-processing, I don't need LR ! As I only have ever used Nikon CaptureNX (1and 2) to convert ...
  • Replied in because..
I agree 100 % in a way.... It's only that nowadays one can "improve" a lot a B&W image in post-process, adding color filters to pull out details, accentuate contrasts, etc... As for myself -and ...
  • A purist, what ? ...and I guess he doesn't retouch nor crop his images ? Why not... I believe it's an excellent way to learn composition ! ;-) J-P. Photo Galleries at http://www.pbase.com/scherrer ...
  • Replied in Why on earth....
Just a question: why on earth do you want to SHOOT in B&W ? Wouldn't it be better (and more useful) to shoot in color and convert to B&W in post-process ? Moreover, the black and white options ...
  • Very easy to do, being careful ! I don't remember the URL of an "how to" I saw, but a search on Google with "shaving the 10.5" should give you some results ! I also read that there are a few guys ...
  • I do ! I guess I kept the old habit of "economizing" film and framing tight (too much!) from the "antes-digital" era ! Most of the time -though except when shooting wildlife- I often take less ...
  • Replied in @ billythek !
Thanks for all these considerations, Billy ! Reading you comments above, I reckon I'd better just forget about LR, because I don't use "publishing, managing online galleries" -much less with iPad ...
  • That's exactly the point: many of us do not take"thousands" of pics in a row, hence do not need the batch facility ! ...and even when I take, say, 50 pics of the sane subject, I just can't use ...
  • Well, just buy it !! It's a really nice piece of glass, very sharp from wide open.... ;-) J-P. Photo Galleries at http://www.pbase.com/scherrer Spherical Panoramas at ...
