Does not work. Phones use an LED flash that ramps up much too slowly (in flash time) to trigger a device. The phone needs to send a trigger signal by bluetooth or it won't work.

You know why this is cool? So far as I know nobody has ever gotten an idevice to sync with an external strobe. The dinky direct flash LED has too broad an on-off time to trigger optical slaves,...

Damn you JEROME, I was just about to complain that the Q got robbed yet again.

Damn you JEROME, I was just about to complain that the Q got robbed yet again. You need to be quick with your obvious jokes around here.

Instead of upgrading your camera, spend the same money on the Olympus 17mm/1.8 and the Panasonic 14mm/2.5 primes. Maybe add the Olympus 45mm/1.8 to your kit for longer shots and you can handle...

PDAF works about the same as CDAF for macro work. They both suck. For best results at very close distances, use your hand.

If you have a D800 plus lenses then you already have a go-to system any time you need quality and can schlep the weight. You really want to maximize how much your systems complement each other...

It's an entirely new lens design that will (or had better) shoot very well at f/1.2. Making one of those from scratch is not trivial.

Think about the mileage that Olympus got out of their original 12 MP sensor, and stop holding your breath.
-
That makes sense, as the OMD competes with the NEX7. The 6 really ought to be compared with the latest E-PL model.

If by anti-shock you mean stabilization, then yes. It would be cool to mix bracketing with interval timer, though I doubt they implemented it.

Hell, I learned with a SLR and I composed just fine with an E-P1. Olympus did a decent job making screens to avoid that problem.

Large sensor compacts are killing the Canon G series. People buy interchangeable lens cameras for a different reason.

PP will buy one EP5, let everyone on every forum know about his unfettered love for it and the system, and then find the next shiny object in exactly two months minus a day, that being the return...
