Instead of upgrading your camera, spend the same money on the Olympus 17mm/1.8 and the Panasonic 14mm/2.5 primes.  Maybe add the Olympus 45mm/1.8 to your kit for longer shots and you can handle...

PDAF works about the same as CDAF for macro work.  They both suck.  For best results at very close distances, use your hand.

If you have a D800 plus lenses then you already have a go-to system any time you need quality and can schlep the weight.  You really want to maximize how much your systems complement each other...
