I currently have a 5D3 with a kit 24-105. I would like to acquire more lenses but I have been waiting to see if Canon will produce a high MP/high DR body. I am also waiting to see what the D600...

The Nikon has a better sensor. The Canon is easier to use. I can't afford to switch. Yawn.

Any theoretical trade-off is worth it to ME.

No surprise. Nikon has the better sensor for sure but I think the 5D3 might be a better camera for most of us. Thanks for the pictures; cute kids.

5D3 w/ 24-105 for travel with a X-Pro 1 or X100 as a sidekick.

D800 a better studio camera but there have been complaints regarding its Live View Mode. I would ask in that forum.

The 5D3 is easily an intrinsically better camera than a 5D2. That is not to suggest that the OUTPUT is going to be better; that's up to you. I think the 5D3 is worth it. YMMV.

AI Servo; use AF-On for "one shot" focus. Tv 1/125 Auto ISO Ditch the flash.
