Eh... took about 30 test shots today with d5100 and d800 and various lenses. couldn't duplicate the hazy effect. oh well. hopefully, the problem is gone.
-
what other types of pictures would you need to see. the 2nd one is representative of the haze i'm concerned with.we only use 1 point focus (most of the time the center point). and yes, our d800...

One more note. i love this lens and wish that it would go back to the way it was before. this combo is so amazing, even my 15 year old son can shoot nice pics, like this one.

Yes.Did some more random shots tonight. Sometimes the pics would be "hazy", sometimes not. I can't tell what's causing it when it happens. As far as I can tell, I'm not doing anything...

Thanks. I did a +7 with the focus fine tuning, but that doesn't seem to work for different distances.I'm more worried about the lack of clarity and contrast (or the haziness as I called it).Note...

Yeh... my mistake there the 2nd picture was from the 85mm. I dropped and dragged it into photoshop on top of the 50mm picture. so when it saved, it saved the 50mm exif. But the second one is 85mm.

Hi all,I was happily shooting away with the 85mm. Suddenly it seems to develop 2 problems. One is back-focus. The other is that the picture seems to have a slight hazy effect. Did something...

For me, when I press "menu", the hour glass just hangs there. Then I click on something else. Then when I click back on menu again, I wait a bit, then the menu comes up.Also, when I review a...

Hi all,Just discovered this issue as I tried using some cf cards. Does anyone know if there has been any fix?I didn't see any while googling, but I figured I better ask to make sure.Thanks.

1. If the poster above is correct, then at 1/400 you're still much faster than the 1/120 of the flourescent light, so that doesn't really help.2. if i wanted the look at 1/250 to 1/400, i would...

Nice shots. Did you use any kind of fill light?

I love D800 video. Haven't done much of it. Have no video taking skills. All I do is have the camera sit on a tripod, focus, and record.Sure wish I can do more, but even with my limited...

Looks good. I enjoyed it. The couple looked pretty young though.

Also, if you can get a monopod (I'm assuming there's no space for a tripod), try shooting videos.

As a new D800 user who shoots dark concerts with some stage lighting, I went with Single point AF-S. Manual mode (f1.8 and ss from 1/320 to 1/600) with auto ISO (max 6400). Seemed to work very...

I've bought from them before. Seemed to be nice people. But I didn't have any issues with the purchase so I don't know how they are when/if you need to return something.

thanks! yeh, can't really use flash in the dance studio. and have to use high shutter speed when they're dancing. guess we might have to bring in some additional lights.

Went to a wedding last year. The reception was at night. My brother's TM700 couldn't even beat my little G2 and 20mm 1.7 lens. And for someone like me who shoot relatively fixed performers in dark...

Hi all,My son was taking the D800 out to his dance studio (as in he takes lessons there and not own the place) for a test. About 40% of the pics came out okay, but the other 60% had these bands of...

Yes, I know it's shocking, but I have had my Camry for 3 years now, and I'm still getting recall notices.Meanwhile, the D800 is doing well.
