I agree with everything that Rod has written.  It is a great travel camera and excellent for Street photography.  The images the G1X produces are truly amazing and the time to AF is really not...

You must have very small pockets and too much time on your hands.

Same happened to me with a G9.  Canon said it was corrosion.  Mine was just outside the 12 month warranty period.  So much for Canon quality, but I am still buying them!
