I travel a lot and am a programmer by profession. Photography has been an interest of mine for 20 years. I had brief exposure to the analog world including darkrooms but have almost exclusively produced digital images.

  • Created user reviews Dependable snaps
Fast startup, fast capture, excellent default processing and solid performance in the vast majority of handheld conditions. Falls down mostly in terribly poor light, or when fast focus is required ...
  • Replied in Deep Gorge
That's definitely one area of work I am pursuing however I wasn't planning to take as strong an effect as you present. The bridge is interesting to me, both to play against the half-bridge ruined ...
  • Replied in Deep Gorge
Same here. Not so keen on whites blowout (perennial digital issue), slight rotation, some minor stitching issues. Familiar with that problem. I think the thin crop helps to control that, and it was ...
  • Replied in Deep Gorge
Thanks Paul. Not really happy with it yet, but wanted to share. Very busy end of year...
  • Replied in Deep Gorge
Thanks John, that's definitely part of the intent. I plan to print very large and present on similar scrolled backing paper to these works to see how far the effect can be pushed.
  • Created discussions Deep Gorge
Best viewed at original size , this is one view of a deep and impressive gorge in the southwest of China that I took many panoramas at last week. This vertical panorama, while still being worked ...
  • Created photos Cigarettes & Venereals
This road sign, named after the famous local 'red tower' that is used as the brand for the locally produced cigarette brand - one of the most popular in the world - tops an advert for a male hospital.
  • Replied in Leaves
Corners and edges, yes. Often the way :)
  • Replied in Barrel 2 Views
An interesting pile. This looks like a dated barrel with a stopper .. suggesting alcohol - one of my favourite things! Secondly, there's a lovely old wooden flat paper storage cupboard .. the type ...
  • Replied in Leaves
Old Sad Leaves With something like this where you like it but you're not sure why others don't respond to it you could consider stepping back and editing the image in pure black and white before ...
  • I like the series and admire your dedication to frequently re-shoot the same subject.
  • Replied in Haunted house
The bad wig here really spoils the effect. This subject is far more convincing .. but the tones are fairly demure. You could probably get a lot more pop from this image with some regional tonal ...
  • Haha, happens to the worst of us ... I'm still only 32 and forget things frequently ... fear not!
  • Replied in Fr. Martin's
Quite the character, this Friar! Now .. show us the distillery!
  • The figures, only visible at full size, really make this image. It feels like the technical execution could have been better, however, with a lack of decisive sharpness in the distance and a ...
  • A great summary of western Europe and parts of Asia!
  • Nice series. Overall a very crisp and modern sense with strong geometry. Something that suits the city, in a way. I think the social distance somewhat evident in the choice of angles and subjects ...
  • Lovely elements there! The ship, heart, hand, blank tablecloth and lighting combine to suggest a single theme. However, you could work on the title :)
  • Replied in Night train
The title intrigued me as I just went to see an amazing exhibition on the Orient Express featuring real carriages from actual component lines at the Institute of the Arab World in Paris, a few ...
  • Replied in Three pigeons
Lovely. If only the little bugger at the top would waddle slightly to the left!
