I'm really considering jumping over to Sony for mirrorless. I've been waiting way tooooooooo long for Nikpn to come up with APS Sensor mirrorless (or even better FF). I hate to say it, but Sony has what I want. Really WTF Nikon! I've been using Nikon since early 1980s and would hate to change to different system, especially to Sony......... but ist seems like I have no other choice.

I'm not sure how this camera has FM2 look. I have FM2 and it doesn't have that messy look (so many buttons), instead it has clean and simple look. btw, I paid 1/10th of what this thing costs.
Not sure why would anyone want this instead of D800 or even D610 (for -$1000). anyone want to enlighten me?

Does anyone know when Samsung will come up with new sensor? the current sensors is over 4 yrs old. How will they keep up with competition?

Pik2004: WTF Nikon! $900 for f/3.5 at 70mm (35mm equalv)? for 2.5X crop sensor. That is pretty ridiculous! I've been using Nikon for past 30 years, but things like this really disappoint me. 2.5x crop sensor was more than enough...
All I ever wanted was simple 1.5x crop sensor mirrorless camera, so I could use my DX lenses. Please don't make me jump to crappy Sony or Samsung for mirrorless and purchase whole new system.

@Howabout,
Good to know, cause I may actually get one of them.

How did I miss this one! It sounds very nice.... Can wait until they come up with Nikon mount for other than Sony's mirrorless.

On Hands-on with Nikon V2 article (452 comments in total)

This has to be one of the ugliest camera out there... Besides the ugliness, there 1 system is so disappointing (small sensors), I'm looking at other mirrorless brands: Samsung or Olympus or even Canon. I personally don't like Sony too much and don't see myself getting one, I must admit I like the path that they have taken in terms of mirrorless camera... but lens line up is pretty disappointing.

Leica, it looks so classic! love the way it looks. I guess that what we are paying for.

This is good news! Mirrorless full frame. it wouldn't be too far for others to follow (Hope Nikon would be next with interchangeable lens).
This ones compact, but I definitely prefer Fujifilm look.

I would have bought it in a heart beat only if it was 16mm...
Nikon why did you extended the telephoto side... it should have been wider angle.

just my thought.

Wi-fi sounds cool, but waiting for their droid NX cameras, now that would really cool.

On Nikon D800 and D800E 36MP full-frame DSLRs announced news story (278 comments in total)

WOW $3000! I guess it's not an exact D700 replacement. Nice though... I'm not sure why people are making big fuss about 36MP, I would always welcome higher resolution. For low light, you could use what you already have like D700/D3s and rest for D800.

Love the compact size, but what the hack, $900 price tag, I'll pass.
I still think it's excellent concept though.
