I pulled out my macro flash ring last week for the first time in a while. I want edto see if it would work with my new Nikon P7700 point and shoot. It did work but I don't like th lighting it...

It's well hidden but your composition gives it away.

If you are trying to fix the problem with metering problems due to light shining through the viewfinder then this will not be a problem with the P7700 because it does not have a viewfinder nor...

They offered the rebates to boost the sales for their March 30 financial year end. So I doubt well see any until at least the holiday seen if we see one at all. This is just my opinion.

Are you asking about the manual auto focus bracket (where you can manually move the auto focus bracket) or manual auto focus where you adjust the focus with the wheel on the back of the camera (the...

That really sucks. Did they say what needed to be done?

I like the Feisol CM-1401 carbon fiber monpod that sells for around $110. Light, sturdy, and rapid anti-leg-rotation locks works well for me. They also make one with thicker leg tubes for $128....

.Other than what you've done you need to shoot at all various setting to see if everything is working as it should. Good luck

I agree with other posters that 15' for small birds. When I'm shooting large birds like great blue herring (2-3 feet tall) I like to be in the 30'-40' range to with a DX sensor camera in landscape...

I have the non-OS version of this lens and it's my sharpest lens and probably has the best bokeh too. Macro lenses have long focus throws to aid in manually focusing macro shots. The down side is...

I agree and suspect it is a connectivity problem. I had the AF go out on my lens but it went out all at once and wouldn't focus below 12' in AF ot MF. Turned out to be a failed focusing mechanism...

I believe the P7700 can only command one group at a tine. You may be able to increase that if you mount an SU-800 or speedlght with command on you P7700

My opinion on macro lenses are you'll be hard pressed to buy a bad true macro lens. They are good. Macros IMO should be chosen based on focal length and needed features. You've chosen a focal...

The only difference I've ever heard about between the AF and AF-D is that the AF lacks the distance chips that aids in flash exposure. I've never noticed a difference between my D and non-D flash...

I have the Tamron 90 f2.8, Sigma 150mm f2.8, Tokina 35mm f2.8 and 5 0r 6 other MF macro lenses including the very cheap Cosina 100mm f3.5. My experience is that it's hard to find a bad macro lens....

Although a little different this sounds like a problem I had with my 80-200mm f2.8 af-s. I pulled my lens out for a shoot and it went to focus, screeched and stop focusing. Manual focus worked down...

I believe your problem is a lack of patients. Macro photography has a little bit of a learning curve especially when using tubes and diopters as they have limited distance that they will focus in....

I recently picked up the 24-120mm f4 VR with the recent rebates because the focal length out to 120mm fits my style and is important to me. I wasn't willing to try it out at full price but the $300...

BTW I did you the 6T with the adapter tube that mounts to the camera and not the lens. So no chance of damaging the lens with to much weight.

These are very nice shots. You did a great job with the shutter speeds you used. Did you use a tripod?
Just for fun I stacked 5 Nikon 6Ts on my P7700 just to see how much magnification I could get....
