Having read that you have some kind of gift cards or something - perhaps it would be a good idea to use them to buy the sel50f18 lens. It is a very fine lens, although - if you tend to shoot often...

let me put it this way - I've sold the kit lens and i'm using almost only primes. Mostly the sigma 30mm, but also the SEL50. Sigma delivers IMHO better IQ. However - as per shutter speed, I'd say,...

A good idea for a backup camera? For example: D600 with a 24-70/2.8 and a good flash. Also - might be a good idea to have a professional wedding photographer to carry that backup camera in case the...

too bad I sold my nex... if it performs as good as the 30mm, it might be one of the best lenses for the system. For good light conditions though.

Isn't the description of the samsung battery saying it is compatible with Sigma SD14? In that case - if you put your bid on SD14, that actually would make sense.

Einstein was only one of many great minds of the 19th and 20th century whose work laid the foundation for understaning the dual nature of light (and other objects as well).

yeah, well - might be nice to mention it at least. Also the X100 with the wideangle converter might be an option.

Why do you only compare this camera to the Nikon? Isn't for example the DP1 merrill a better quality camera in terms of IQ? And it's also priced at 800$.

I found the best portraits I made were either from a 80-220mm tamron at around 150mm or from a 135mm CZJ. Both of them are f/3.5 lenses but with the longer focal lenght the DOF is shallow enough...

I wish I'd have as much $ to spend on equipment. But then - my wife would throw me out of the house anyway if she knew ;-)

I have such a lens and mine is M42.

you should be able to recover most of the files. There is a lot of software available (both free and $) on the market. Important is not to write anything to the card now.
-
Nice idea! Must admit that I always placed my camera on a tripod and moved the lightsource- certainly restricting the creative possibilies.

I would recommend Sandisk extreme cards. 8GB or 16GB cards are best IMO as you don't store all the pictures taken on a single card (and if one card goes broken - you don't loose all the files).
I...

i'd recommend the sigma 30mm. very nice, small lens.

I don't really care but if you want to have pretty reliable data for this, you could sync the clocks in your phone and camera and shoot a picture of the lens settings with your phone. Easier than...

Nowadays is the key word. I agree that dumping the nex now is perhaps not the wisest choice. I was rather referring to the fact that nex7 early adopters may feel dissapointed. They were given a...

How about people who bought the camera early, hoping for new lenses to arrive soon? Dont look only from todays perspective.
It's not about Sony lenses only, but also about 3rd party lenses....

If I'd buy a car, I couldn't afford a camera. Also don't have a driving license LOL ;) But when living in a city, there is a chance you can make "city-landscapes" kind of pictures. Of course -...

It's sure worth it, but what the chances are, those ideas will be implemented (and you rewarded for the effort)? Hard to say. I think the controls suck simply because of the effort to keep them...
