I have a Minolta 28-105 F3.5-4.5 too ... and I bought it for the same price.

2 days ago I did a moon shot with my Sigma 50-150 EX F/2.8, the result is really nice, even too nice for a hand held shooting. Now I guess to buy a 500mm or a 800mm miror lens to get better results...
I fully agree.
The 18-55 is a very good lens.
It is a bit soft between 18 and 25 but then it is really sharp.
I really like this lens too.
