Well, we'll need to have this camera reviewed before we can any definitive statement. 1200mm vs 600mm will certainly be tempting to some, hence the Canon SX50 having a following. Compared to the SX50, not having raw looks a misstep.

(personally, I'll keep dreaming of a Canon 500/600/800 L lens I can't afford...)

You're unlikely to see anyone winning Wildlife Photographer of Year using one of these, but the latest generation of superzooms do seem to be popular with birdwatchers who want decent record shots of birds that often aren't close.

Integrating a portrait grip is an interesting introduction to the segment.
