  • I was in the park in Old Town Scottsdale (Arizona) while my wife was shopping and I experimented with the app on my A6000.  I've included some examples.  They were shot with the camera just ...
  • I use one of these: http://www.amazon.com/External-Battery-Pack-Limefuel-L156X/dp/B00BZDK3XK/ref=sr_1_2?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1429812035&sr=1-2&keywords=limefuel It's a bit on the heavy side, but ...
  • My wife is in the market for a new P&S (pocketable, viewfinder mandatory) and I showed her the same sort of pull/pull viewfinder on the RX100 as on the HX90V. Her first comment was "ugh" and her ...
  • And in response to my own message (underlined portion), it turns out that basically one guy actually did write all of the apps for these devices, or sort of at least. It seems that a single company ...
  • BTW, after looking around the menus on my A6000, it turns out that I can create a new folder at the push of a button and all new shots go in there. There are two options on naming the folder: by ...
  • I bought my A6000 about a year ago and it came with one.
  • Resetting the G2 and rebooting the iPad fixed this.
  • I just tried the G2 and it does a pretty reasonable job except for one small problem:  It crashes my iPad mini when I look at my files (JPEGs and RAWs)!  I'm using a Sony A6000 so the RAW's are ARW's.
  • OK, gotcha. Yes, Windows and Mac are no problem. It's iOS and Android that I'm having trouble with. I won't travel with a laptop any more and my preference is to use my iPad or iPhone.  I have a ...
  • Can you list some of these apps?  It's very hard to know that level of detail without actually having both the device and app in hand. Thx.
  • That's quite clever!  I'll play with that today. Note that there is no file manager app native to the Apple devices. Steve Jobs didn't believe in that for iOS devices.  The third party apps, ...
  • I have a similar setup for my wife's Samsung Android phone.  It works OK, but I would like to have a "universal" solution between iPhone, iPad and Android since my wife isn't always around! Because ...

Is there some sort of cover available to protect the flash's shoe mount when it's not attached to the camera?  (Other than the supplied stand?) Thx
  • I just got some Xume adapters for this very purpose. They work quite well except that on the 49mm E lenses, they pretty much prevent you from using the native lens shades.  I'll get around that in ...
  • Per your first two points above, be sure to read this: Metz Bankruptcy

You're right! It's the same effect with either the native version or the "Plus" version.  The Plus version doesn't enhance this particular effect, just some of the others.  I guess I never noticed ...

I was fiddling around in Old Town Scottsdale while my wife was shopping.  I was experimenting with the downloadable "Picture Effects+" applet on my A6000, the "Rich-tone Mono" effect. This picture ...
  • One of the things I learned on this trip was that when I shot a picture of an animal in the grass, the autofocus locked in on the grass itself!  I eventually started moving to manual focus for a ...

It works in conjunction with the Smart Remote Control downloadable app. Turn off the 6000's Airplane Mode and fire up the Smart Remote Control app.  Turn on the RM-LVR1 and they'll find each other.
