attomole: $500 camera with a $1000 price tag

Okay, these improvements give more value to the A6300, but twice the price of the A6000?

Francis Carver: A number of other top-name digital camera manufacturers make cameras that can do all this -- and more, and yet are priced at around US$695.

But hey, maybe it's only a typo that this one here is priced at US$6,950. That extra zero at the end makes zero sense whatsoever, actually.

Oh, and what's the really ugly add-on thingy on top of the camera, anyhow?

Hi, F Carver, I agree with you. A lot of cameras priced US$695 can do that. I have one of them.

Greg Gebhardt: I think the G1X should have made the list along with the "M" but it would be hard to only pick 5 as many new cameras have been introduced. The camera makers are, at last, giving us what we want!

G1X definitely

LX7 with a smaller sensor than LX5? Is this an upgrade? Not for me, thanks.

I like it. Very good spec for a real compact camera. It doesn´t compete with my Canon G1X, wich has a larger sensor and a fantastic image, but has a true compact it might be my first choice for a second camera

Now you guys forced me to decide. I’m gonna make! How it will be the best camera ever? Well: It will be a full frame, will fit in the palm of your hand, weighs three ounces, focal length of 6 mm to 1200 mm. The features will be limited only by your thinking: Everything you can think and desire the camera will do perfectly. I mean it will be led only and just by your mind! Will have so much resolution that you will have doubts if it is a reflection of reality that you have in your hand or the reality itself. Finally it will cost you a dollar. Something still to criticize?

And you Know what? I'm gonna make the best camera ever!!

You take a wonderful picture show it to a friend and he says: Oh what a pity ,such a wanderful picture mas it was taken with a slow camera.
Aren't you ll mixing things?
Ok it has a poor macro! Ok it is slow continuos shooting, ok bla bla bla, BUT IT TAKES WNDERFUL PICTUES WITH VERY VERY GOOD RESOLUTION! I repeat better than any M43, an even must of DSLR. It is enough to me! I CARE ABOUT IQ! You try elsewhere.

Thank you Stu. I followed your advice isn'it, I quote'': G1X IS the HIGHEST IMAGE QUALITY professional fixed-zoom compact from any maker. But it deserves to be reworked as a G2X with better controls and a more accurate optical finder with vital settings and shooting information displayed." I say do you have a EOS 5D MII? Well there already is a better M III on the market! Can you get?. Let's bel real if the G1X was perfect in all those areas you are talking about NOBOBY EVER WOULD BUY A DSRL. I'll stick with it untill the full frame will be affordable to normal guys like. Till then I' ll get great photos with G1X. I'm not a Pro just a normal guy who LOVES Photography. Thank you anyway.

To Mescalamba. Ok I' ll send a G1X for Xtmas. Sure it will be youy nightmare.

Know what? I'll buy one for me. Why? Still compact enough and best IQ than any M43, an NEX 5N end NEX 7 and those bulky DSRL 600D D5100 and 60 and many others. For mi IQ is the main thing.
Be happy.

Well, in my opinion, it looks like a toy. But they show a great respect for the customers with that compability lens thing. Also the IQ seems to be great.

Nikon bla bla,, Canon bla bla, Fuji bla bla, Pana bla bla, XPTO bla bla,…
My God, how I like the good old brands: Kodak, Leica, Praktica, Zeiss Ikon, Agfa, Rollei ...
And always remember:
“Kodachrome They give us those nice bright colors
They give us the greens of summers
Makes you think all the world's
a sunny day”

What a pity!
I would love to have a wonderful Kodak mirrorless four thirds.
Full Frame sensor and 30 or 40 MB.
Yes, and the name KODAK on the top of it.
