The best feature of this camera is the auto-lens cup. I love it!

It would be so much more appealing to me if it was made in m42 mount since that is easy to adapt with cheap adapter almost to any system.

In reply to:

JamesD28: This numbering system (a3000 & a5000) implies that larger numbers are for lower-end cameras. But with the SLT alpha range higher numbers are allocated to higher-end cameras? Make up your mind Sony!

Does the technical name of the cameras even matters to anyone? Everybody who has a little of the brain left will buy a new camera based on its IQ, handling price and reviews! No one care for name. I advice you to buy anything you want and call it Julliet! You can use gaffer tape for that. Done

Droidie69b: The only reason I'd upgrade from my 5N will be when it includes twin dials, a better navigation system, inbuilt image stabilization, built in flash, built in view finder and weather sealing. Ie the GX7 with APS sensor. Then hopefully other 3rd party lens manufacturers will include the e-mount in all their lens offerings. ie sigma 18-35 1.8

Why don't you just buy the GX7 and put your 5n sensor in it. <facepalm>

justinwonnacott: F40 at the long end???? It will be a little sharper than a pinhole camera I suppose but with more CA. This will NOT be the lens of choice for photographers concerned about quality.

Should have go to specsavers

jhinkey: How about someone (I mean you Nikon, but Tamron too) build an excellent 28-105 or 24-105 instead of a likely IQ compromised 28-300 10x zoom. And no the 24-85AFS VR nor the 24-120/4AFS VR don't count as excellent.

buy new sigma 24-105 f4 You won't be dissapointed

kadardr: NEX series gets abandoned. Nice learning about Sony.

It uses e mount even it is not called nex. Not a big deal to me really. But what snoy will achieve with this naming is confused buyer.

All nice but samsung cameras have had always way too large RAW files. We will see its any better this time. Who wants to deal with 50MB files? Not me. The rest of the system would be ok

bloodycape: I'd rather take a short zoom range for a larger sensor and/or faster lens. Essentially, an Android version of the EX2F they make.

Also should shoot Raw + and be a smartphone too, then I ll give them my money. Must be all in one

Juraj Lacko: I would like to have in my next android smartphone bigger 20mpx sensor (like in sony rx100), the bright and sharp f2 35mm eqv. lens and Raw file recording. I also wouldnt mind phone to be thicker and heavier in exchange for longer battery life. I wouldn't mind to pay extra money for such device.

Lars Rehm for such a device i would give up my phone and CSC camera.
I know it would be a chalenge but it is possible. Sony has made small cameras even with ff sensor this year. I wouldn't mind if the phone would be as thick as 1" or so while the other things would be there. Even sony rx100 is around 36mm thick but that has got a zoom lens and lots of manual controls. The fixed prime lens would be smaller and lighter and cheaper to make. The cherry on a cake would be zeiss lens :) Dream on me! :)
