win39: For on tripod shooting it is hard to improve on a wireless remote(Nikon 1) for ease of use or the versatility of a remote control wifi phone app that also lets you change settings and view your subject on the phone and trip the shutter remotely(Fuji).

Not with the Nex 5t! Lol!

Not with a Nex 5t! You cannot select wireless remote in the menu when using the apps! How many times do I have to point this out!

They don't work with the apps!

linzdoctor7d: Sony why can't you add remote shutter release work with your Apps instead of this! If I want to use the Nex 5T with the Apps Multiple Exposure, Time Lapse or Multi Shot there is no option in the menu. I must therefore shake the camera by pressing the shutter button.

You guy don't get it there is no way to fire the Nex 5t with a cable release at all period! There is no way to fire the Nex 5t with a wireless remote or with wifi when you are using the apps period! If you can show me a source or video that shows the Nex 5t working with any cable release or firing the shutter with a wireless trigger when using the apps please show me so I can eat my words. Please read carefully before giving a reply because I have searched high and low for months and could not find a solution. Remember this for the Nex 5t!

There is no way to use either a wired or wireless or wifi shutter release from a smart phone with the apps at all on the Nex 5t. Sony does not have an option in the menu to select. The EVF which attaches cost more than the camera! dark goob is correct Sony does have my money for flawed products! I'm saving up for the possible Pentax full frame or K3mII camera so I don't have to continue to endure this nonsense from Sony! The K3 has all of these features built in!

dodgebaena: I too am not a Pentax shooter but I know friends who swear by Pentax, and have heard glowing testimonials. What I don't understand is why more manufacturers don't incorporate an articulating/tilting/swiveling LCD. After I used one with the Canon 60D (I'm now a Sony a99/a7II/RX10 shooter), I can't see myself shooting without one.

I shoot in the rain a lot with both the A77 and A77m2 the screen is not an issue!

Does that look like a hinge on the side for a flip screen?
