Whoa awesome stuff! Feel like selling off my tx10 and getting the tx200 now D:
DoctorJerry: Greqt news, now how about something for Nikon? What is the problem with getting AF to work? How soon will it be available?
you need a mirror to direct light to the AF sensor module which is only possible with another adapter with a translucent mirror..
ProfHankD: I wonder if autofocus is a possible firmware upgrade away?I suspect it is lower priority because contrast detect non-native autofocus is not likely to be very fast, but I bet people want it anyway....
It's possible if someone creates another adapter which has a translucent mirror... but then again would Sony allow that is another question.
Digicam Newbie: Great review... Thanks.
However; six of your last seven detailed reviews have been Sonys. Will you continue reviewing other brands? Would love to see more balance.
i'm referring to the 1DX...
You do know the difference between 'announced' and 'released' right?
This is a joke right? Which Sony user will buy this lens? Non OS but cost the same. Pathetic marketing strategy.
_Photographer_: Can I use canon lenses with some adapter?
Yes you can.
Pity nobody appreciates the AF speed and dynamic range of the a77...
Visualiza: ISO 800...one would think that this would shut the naysayers up(about noise at least), but something tells me they'll be singing the same tune 'til kingdom come.
Anyway, I was skeptical at first but I believe what my eyes see, and right now it's looking pretty good.
My $300 TX10 can do the same thing.
CameraLabTester: Ho HumYet another camera maker trying to set ANOTHER STANDARD from the many many standards out there...As if the camera market hasn't been flooded with supposedly "NEW" things...
NOTHING IS NEW... from Canon, Nikon etc, because these are all MARKETING HYPE.
The 4/3 system is BETTER, because it is an OPEN SYSTEM. You can mount ANY Lenses from the major brands such as Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax etc on the 4/3 system by using a CHEAP adapter...
Sony is already doing that now with the new adapter which allows full phase detection autofocus. So what's new here?
calxn: Well, that settles it. It's now up to Canon to determine whether Sony is on the trajectory to being the #1 camera maker in 5 years. Nikon, didn't Canon teach you that bigger sensor equals better image quality? We thought you learned that with the D3. Guess you're going to have to learn it all over again.
LOL. So you sound like you tried the new lenses from Nikon. So how awesome are they compared to the crap E mount lenses?
I think there's a typo for TX10? It's using a CMOS sensor right? Not a CCD...
