  • WhyNot's suggestion of a photo of the garden in full junkyard context is a good one. Unfortunately, that hadn't occurred to me (though it should have, dangit!). Here's the closest I came, straight ...
  • and one more in the Close-Up thread. I took some household papers to a recycling yard for shredding this morning and it was the darndest thing; In the midst of your basic junk yard, with dump ...

Fabulous, Phil! There are more dimples in those eyes than on a golf ball. (Yeah, I know they're lenses.) :-)

I gotta love a man who loves a challenge, Andrew. Well done.
  • Near Flagstaff, Arizona, a couple of weeks ago, the ospreys were having no more luck with trout than my cousin and I were. I swear, this one had a 90-pounder! :-D

Every time I see a green heron, bent forward as they strut along, I think of Groucho Marx. Of course, that says more about me than about anything else! :-D
  • These are wonderful shots, Robert, with great detail and composition. 35mm macro w/1.4tc?

Only 27 years trying? Sheesh, where's your patience, Andrew? :-D
  • The background is the oof sidewalk in our front yard; I then went and blew it out. The shot is a focus stack using a tripod.

Thanks, Ken. For some reason, this one hovered in one spot for a very long time. That and the super-fast AF made the shot possible.
  • Thanks for the ID, Brad. I'm always too lazy to look things up. LOL.

Yup, plus the 1.4tc for 210mm. Did you make it out to the sunflowers again?
  • From the past month or so ... Thanks for looking, folks.

Dragonfly in flight. :-) Taken at Ashurst Lake near Flagstaff, Arizona. This 40-150 pro lens is a revelation!
  • Believe or not, Andrew I did! Two tickets actually. And as usual they were stinkers. So it goes.

Thanks, Brent. I don't think the 1.4tc works on the 60mm; Oly says it's only for the 40-150/2.8 and an upcoming 300mm prime. Still, it might be worth a try, especially now that I think that lens ...
  • Thanks David. Those sunflowers must be waist-high by now. I get back from Sedona on July 7th; maybe we can check them out that weekend or the next? And you betcha the macro is coming along!
  • LOL! No kidding, Brad. Not long ago I lost an important flash drive for four days -- in my pants pocket!
