I've always thought the optical viewfinder would be unsuitable for zooms - fundamental difference with DSLR's in that regard.  Doesn't the X-Pro 1 do something clever with a couple of zoom settings...

I've owned/used a lot of CDAF cameras (i.e. compacts) and the X-E1/18-55 is the fastest I've ever owned. The Olympus OM-D EM-5 and Nikon V1/V2 may well be faster, but that's not "most".
