I've always thought the optical viewfinder would be unsuitable for zooms - fundamental difference with DSLR's in that regard. Doesn't the X-Pro 1 do something clever with a couple of zoom settings...

hey Brian that blog/review is freakin' great! Not too tech, plenty of good shots, and damn funny quotes hidden in there - keep it up & thanks. Worth a look just to check out your photo samples....

For all of you trying to rationalize Jessops failure relative to number of stores, location on the high street, competition with the internet, or any other retail photographic context, you should...

FFS, all you do is post one post after another about how you're considering Fuji's next camera until you've done that long enough and the next camera has come out, and then post how disappointed...

I've owned/used a lot of CDAF cameras (i.e. compacts) and the X-E1/18-55 is the fastest I've ever owned. The Olympus OM-D EM-5 and Nikon V1/V2 may well be faster, but that's not "most".

The X-E1 and X-Pro1 share the same sensor, lens and image firmware, so love 'em or hate 'em, image-wise they're the same camera. My 2c: (1) coming from a DSLR there are usability differences that...

Thanks for posting this and the earlier B&W picture - with them both it's great to compare the styles. Personally I like the way the color of the hut contrasts with the monochrome scenery.thanks...

I'm on of the few who really doesn't get B&W... what's the advantage for a snow scene?

The AF on my X-E1/18-55 is very good for the type of camera. Either(a) you've got a defective camera (which I doubt)(b) you're experience is based on DSLR's default Auto AF point selection, so you...

It might be controversial but I suspect the attractiveness for Full-Frame has more to do with recent marketing by camera vendors than an actual need. It's a relatively simple way for product...

As far as I can tell the Macro button isn't relevant for the 18-55.

I reckon much of the recent emphasis on FF products is driven by range marketing - i.e. products like the X series are using APS-C sensors and eating into the territory of higher-end products,...

You basically just re-invented the teleconverter, which has been available forever on any camera with a filter thread, e.g. it's a popular discussion topic for X100 (google ) .But wait, you're...

Another small tip if you're new to the camera: the X-E1 accepts generic NP-W126 replacement batteries and they work absolutely fine, e.g. from Ex-Pro, Maxsima and others (kudos to Fuji for not...

* In the menu you can change the image stabilization to be active during the shot (shutter half press) only, rather than continuous. This extends the battery life (but I haven't seen any...

I'd say the blackness just goes with the serious stealth professional style of the thing - it works in practice the way intended I think. In particular the top section of the camera looks like...

I liked some of those shots - the fence and the black&white derelict building were neat. The german 'verboten' sign in b&w has an interesting cold-war era feel to it for me. The color drink/cafe...
