Jim Radcliffe: The forums need real moderators, not a redesign. Fix that first. There are some nasty people who have been banned over and over again only to be allowed back into a forum to continue to cause problems. Why?
The biggest problem with DPReview forums is the lack of active and swift moderation.
I agree totally.
On the Gallery (sorry if it is not the topic here) I have a lot of spam, always the same text to marry me and can't remove it, only flag as inappropriate! DPreview is not a dating site!
I don't put new pictures now and don't even get a look anymore.
Even if I click "daily" to receive a message when a comment is posted on my photos, I never received. :-(
BUT there are more good things on DPreview than bad!!!!! ;-)
guiri: Don't know what it's like now but I've been there twice, in the 80's and it was awesome and HUGE. The advice then was, get the show catalog/book and mark the companies you WANT to see 'cause you WILL look at much more and in ONLY a week, there's NO way in hell you can see everything. That's how big the show is. Oh and bring comfy shoes and something to carry all the samples and brochures you'll be taking with you.
