cosmoxl's recent activity

  • One came with E-M5, another came with grip for E-M5, another I bought as extra through B&H early in E-M5 lifecycle, and probably the most recently dated one came with my E-M1. All four of mine ...
  • Replied in that's it
ok, thanks.  going to remote shutter was the answer.
  • best I can tell HDR/bracketing still won't work via wifi.  anybody figured out how?
  • will also be able to control release mode according to firmware changelog.  so does that mean bracketing via wifi will be possible?
  • I put the 17mm 1.8 on my em1, set to manual focus, and connected the wifi app.  No ability to focus that I could see.  It would make sense to add a slider as you say.
  • Isn't there an "on" for noise reduction because there will be noise without noise reduction?  I don't see why this is a revelation.
  • sigh.  I have lightroom and will d/l 5.3 when it's the release version.
  • Replied in me too
it was my most used lens on a recent trip to Kiev, being fast and a "good" focal length for what I was shooting.
  • Replied in only camera jpgs
Yeah, these are only camera jpgs.  I don't even have lightroom 5.3 installed yet so I'm not able to do profiling.  So, no doubt the charts are not correct. This was just a quick test to see ...
  • download the pdf and use ctrl+f to search for keywords that you want.  much easier than fiddling with paper.
  • something in the back of my mind...could be from university or just reading the 'net...is telling me that when comparing focal lengths the "area" of an object (in this case, the lens) is what ...
  • I am testing for myself that my lens is working properly because I was observing that between 35-40mm there did not seem to be the field of view change that I expected. I figured that others might ...
  • mine is shortest at about 16mm, definitely midway between the 14 and 18 mm marks on the lens. I'd be interested to hear from others to see if all lenses are the same as mine because I've also ...
  • Replied in only landscapes?
I love the photos.  But, I hope the 12-40 is good for more than just landscapes. :)
  • I think one of the points of color profiles is accounting for different lenses too. Also, a sunny day near the equator is different from a sunny day at 60 degrees north.
  • more I look at it, I may be wrong when I said the EM5 color of the pillow was more accurate.  now I'm thinking the EM5 is too red.
  • Replied in perhaps
in my first real shots with the EM1 it seemed to be underexposing quite a bit compared to my EM5. I just took a couple test shots, all settings the same best I can tell, same lens. The EM1 is ...
  • Replied in spyder
maybe there are other products, but the spyder I know and have is a monitor calibration tool.  very different from the x-rite colorchecker passport. x-rite also makes monitor calibration tools, BTW.
  • a color checker passport is relatively inexpensive but is of high value in getting your photos just right. just take a picture of the color patch target in the light you are shooting in and later ...
  • Sure, you can manually take the different exposures you want using, but it looks as though the bracketing mode or built in HDR function isn't available using wifi control.  Or am I just not seeing ...
