Thanks folks...

Blinksimages -- I have no idea. I thought it was a sand piper and was told otherwise. If you are an authority, I will take your word on it.

Man "Yellow Legs" as the title would have been much better!

In reply to:

vastoulis: I dislike challenges with capture date rules. I don't think they serve any useful purpose and I would like to urge fellow participants not to bother with challenges containing them in the future.I would also like to ask the host to be a bit more careful about what he asks for in a challenge. Siesta means "midday rest or nap in the hot countries", not just "afternoon break" as mentioned in the challenge. I think it is usually a good idea for participating photographers to have an exact understanding of what they are trying to depict....

Too bad!

"useful purpose" ... this is a photo challenge not a learning tool.

The "purpose" of the capture date rule is to get current images and get folks out taking images. It is to break away from the folks that keep entering the same images into new challenges. Clear enough?

I would ask that you be less narrow minded ... should I define that for you?

buckshot: Settle this with you votes ... the entries stand unless it is out of the entry date. Lighten up folks

So you would rather let an image win you think does not meet the challenge? If anything it should prompt you folks to vote to make your case!

jrtrent: Life in my corner must be a lot different from the corners of the world where most of the top finishers live. The toast with jam entry, that ended up 51st, is more my world than the beautiful and even spectacular scenery that many entrants seem to wake up to.

:-D
