I GAVE UP ON THE NEX7 BOUGHT A A77 NOW I AM LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO GO WITH MY PANASONIC GF-1 ,SIZE DOES MATTER.THIS OLY E-M5 LOOKS GOOD WITH THE FEATURES OF WEATHERPROOFING. THE LENS MARKET IS THERE ALREADY , JUST NOT ENOUGH WEATHER SEALED ONES. OLY NEEDS TO SPEED AND SEAL SOME GOOD M3/4 LENSES. THE OTHER CONTENDER IS FUJI X-PRO1. NICE FAST LENSES , GREAT LOOK AND NICE ACCESSORIES. TIME AND REVIEWS WILL TELL THE STORY. GUESS WE WILL JUST HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE WHICH MEETS OUR NEEDS THE BEST. REMEMBER THERE IS A CAMERA FOR EVERY ONES TASTE. NOBODY WEARS THE SAME SIZE SHORTS EITHER. RIGHT?

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER. AND THERE IS ALWAYS TIME. JUST PUT IT ON MANUAL. AND WHY NOT A NEW LENS OR BODY THAT WILL FIT IN ANY STOCKING. YOU COULD EVEN GET A BIGGER ONE IF YOU NEED.
miwo76: Why is it that every "new or beginner photographer" image is always a woman? I can't tell you how many of my buddies could easily take the place of the woman in your image under "beginner cameras". Be careful of your stereotypes...women have a much larger influence on the market than you think.
THAT'S RIGHT . JUST LOOK AT SOME OF THE AWARD WINNING PHOTOGRAPHERS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD. MANY ARE VERY TALENTED WOMEN AND MORE ARE ON THERE WAY UP. JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE A MAN DON'T THINK THAT MAKES YOU A PROFESSIONAL. THE LADY'S KNOW WHAT IT TAKES.

Don't forget people the floods in Thailand have put the people out of their homes and jobs.I know we want the cameras real bad but lets think about the poor people that have had their lives uprooted. I am sure if it were us that was making something for over seas consumption and we were flooded out of our homes . The last thing we would think of would be getting the line back up.The product will be made sooner of latter. If its worth anything its worth waiting for. Patience , take a deep breath , and relax . The anticipation of something special is worth it. TIME WILL MAKE IT EVEN BETTER.

MAYBE YOU SHOULD PUT YOUR PHONE NUMBER ON THE SONY SITE SO WE ALL COULD GET THE RIGHT INFORMATION. SOMETIMES IT'S HARD TO GET THE RIGHT INFORMATION. JAPAN , UK , CANADA AND THE US VERSION. WHY ARE THERE SO MANY ?

I JUST GOT MY A77 FROM AMAZON BY WAY OF ADORAMA 3 DAYS EARLY. ALL GOOD THINGS ARE WORTH WAITING FOR. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST CAMERAS I HAVE HAD THE PLEASURE TO USE. I THOUGHT NOTHING COULD COME CLOSE TO MY NIKON F3 BUT THE A77 IN JUST THE FIRST FEW HOURS HAS. EVEN IN CALIF. I ENJOY SHOOTING IN IDAHO AND THE CANADIAN ROCKIES BETTER.
I THINK THE WORKERS AT OLYMPUS SHOULD LOOK FOR WORK AT PANASONIC OR SONY IF THEY QUALIFY FOR THE JOB.
scott_mcleod: So the GX1 has virtually identical specs to the G3, no viewfinder, a fixed screen and the body-only costs $100 more??? If it was the same price I could see that you're (effectively) "paying more for less" but getting a more compact body in return; however this pricing strikes me somewhat cynically as cashing in on all the folks who have been waiting for a *real* successor to the GF1...
THE REAL SUCCESSOR TO THE GF1 IS ALREADY HERE IT'S THE SONY NEX - 7.
Noogy: The bottomline with this whole interchangeable lens lot is first off - the promised "DSLR-like" image quality has not been met, despite iterations and reiterations by Pana, Oly and Sony (though Sony seems to have the edge on image quality among the three with its latest NEX rendition).
Second, I agree that Pana has fallen short of expectations with the GX1 and the GF3. I was in fact seriously considering to replace my wife's NEX-5 with the new GF-series camera, anticipating it would be the game-changer that the GF1 was. I am disappointed.
LOOKS LIKE WE HAVE TO GO TO THE LEICA X1 NOW. FUNNY IT'S STILL A GOOD SHOOTER AT 10MP. NOT ON SALE YET.
