nerd2: Digital already surpasses film in every aspects (resolution, dynamic range, noise) and can closely simulate any film we had. I think we should ban film photography, just for environmental reasons.

kevin_r: I suspect Nikon is using this as a market test to check reaction to the superfast phase detect AF on sensor plus contrast detect AF. They've [hopefully] got the same kind of thing going on APS-C and FF sensors, both of which are just waiting to be fully ironed out and put into production.
I just a/b'ed the V1 vs a a65 which has that new 24mp aps sensor from sony -same sensor as the nex-7. the V1 blows it out of the water- no joke. very small sensor- but dont underestimate it. this is a fine camera with lightning fast focus. very good for street photos. poor mans m9.
