Replied in Dates From Japan
No "news" news, but according to our friend Maro (Fujieda-san) in Japan, he did get some tentative dates when he talked to Sigma at the CP+ show.

Replied in in all fairness Kendall -->
Technically this is a new model, so they were able to save a small amount of face. Stretching the new model name to encompass the new DPs was a very sublime marketing move. :)

Replied in I don't know but assume they are the same
Did they remove weather sealing?
Getting this (arguably magical) sensor into more people's hands is the best thing Sigma can do right now....

Replied in Tamron's new 24-70 f/2.8 VC USD
The "hell"? Well, you need room for the OS mechanism, so you either make the lens bigger or the optics smaller. But honestly I don't know. It bet they get a lot more juice from the...

Extremely sad news.
I had the pleasure of chatting with Michihiro in Vermont a few years back. A very proud and thoughtful man. He had a very long view of the photographic industry and was...

Cool. A new blog to follow.
Paul's setup was very nice. And I can attest to the throngs (relatively) who came by to check it out with great interest. The Capture software worked very well. ...
