35mm F1.8 plenty wide for what I need...Ultra wide is over rated..Just my opinion. all in what you like.prefer to photograph... Can always pick one up later...

Okay...either loss is insignificant or it's horrible...which is it??

sooo it would be less then one full stop so about F1.8 from a 1.4...Not up on the math..I know how to change f-stops and what they are for and their association with Shutter and ISO and DOF...

Thanks Brian...I'm most likely going to keep the NEX 7, sell my A550, and pick up a used Nikon D700, D3, or New D600...Sony simply can't compete in the low noise, high ISO arena. The A99, as good...
