In reply to:

Roy Sletcher: Several entries have ignored the last sentence of the rules requesting a title on the image.

Is this merely a request, and we can ignore it for voting purposes, or is it a rule with consequences?

I am supposing the former, but would like to be sure for my evaluation when voting.

RS

Dear Roy,
As far as I'm concerned, the border is part of the photo. If he wants to put the title on the border, I'm OK with it. Please don't penalize him just because of that. And yes, I require all photos to have a title watermark, you can press the complaint button on those without one.

I think this shot was entered in National Parks challenge before. I liked it then and I like it now.

Such a nice clean shot. Lovely view showing the Architect's intent and Engineer's solution.

'Having removable media gives users the option to swap out cards with another device or transfer images to a second device or computer via a card reader. '

While on a 7 day trip, I filled up my 16GB SD card by the third day. I ended up using 2 micro SD cards (with an adapter) to continue shooting with my Nex. One of the was a 16Gb micro SD card on my Android pad and the other was a 32Gb micro SD card from my Samsung Note 2 smartphone.

I also posted some shots from my Nex by transfering the micro SD cards back to my phone. It worked so well without any hitch and there aren't any noticable delay in write times.

I personally think SD cards will be extinct by the end of the year.

Oh darn, I have made a mistake.
The part about 'Sunset/sunrise shots are acceptable provided they are not those silhouette type of shots.' was a clause left-over FROM a previous challenge.
Silhouette shots ARE ok for this challenge (see my first sample). Please feel free to ignore it and enter one if you like.

I agree, I wrote to him on June 11th saying the same thing.

Lovely photo. But the filter treatment doesn't look too suitable, in my opinion.

Congratulations. A bit extreme in my opinion, especially since it leaked onto the border as well. ;-)

Congratulations MarioSS.
You won first place on Manufacture a Likeleak!

As far as commenting is concerned, since DPReview allows it and I encourage it, I will allow any comments at any phase of the challenge.
IMO, a comment is more effective to be posted during one's initial viewing; if we suppress initial comments, no one will come back and comment later.

I don't know what to say about this shot.
One one hand it's beautiful and it's definitely planted nicely by humans.
I haven't been to Biei, so I'm not sure how large a city it is.
Good luck.
