steadily growing, i bet you we once will buy a DPR camera....
So basically it does what Photosynth does, only you need to drag extra hardware and pay 300 for it?
What am i missing?
Ricoh management, really, wake up and spent your engineering time in camera design.
Thanks God i never sold my Ricoh CX6,
this is a rebadged Pentax, probably a sketch that fell off the designers desk and a buss guy noticed it, hey, we did not bring anything new under Ricoh lately, lets use this, it sits between the Pentax Optio 10 and 18,
it has the Pentax button layout, and oh, Ricoh,
I hope you understand in Europ we no longer use stones to carve in, a 230 K dot LCD?? please, my CX6 uses a 1.2 mio.
You can buy an almost new CX6 at roughly 100 euro, so, this HZ-whatever, will it sell at , say 30 euro or more?
What a waste, i'm a Ricoh fan and really feel obused now, i still cannot sit.....
curious to see how it outperforms "smaller " sensors, like the Ricoh GR with an APS-C.
And how surprised i am to see that even in the corners, like the watch, the brushes, fine font at bottom, the Ricoh outperforms both the RX 1 and the RX1R.(by quit a bit too)
What is wrong here?
Please DPR, i think you need to do this fotoshoot for both the sonys again to give them the honour they deserve.
yes Vivid, or user defined settings punch the colors, thsat is simply standard on all Ricohs
The GR is made for enthousiasts of perfect pictures, so i'm pleased to see that DPR made the ffrot of including lots of optical graphs in their review, this is pixel peeping at its best to find that last bit of detail.
great update, forum filter tabs; fantastic, user experience really improoves, congrats
suddenly the taoy Q camera of a few years ago becomes very interesting, when the Q came out, i could not stop laughing, but now, it all seem to make sence what they did back than.
C O N G R A T S D P R E V I E W
This is a serious and real handy upgrade
I love it, so then thumbs up
great, not a coninkon or a sony, but an oly
If Porsche should build a tractor, people expect it to go fast,If coca cola decides to grow vegetables, people expect them to have a coca flavor,If Apple decides to build pencils, people expect them to be sleek and webenabled,if Ray Ban decides to build hats, people expect them to be retro,if Polaroid decides to build Android camera's, people expect them to p[op out instant pics,
where to pop in that film cartridge?
topstuff: Having been through a similar selection process myself, I chose the Sony RX100.
Oh my, it is better than I ever imagined.
All the hype around the RX100 is IMO justified. I have printed out decent sized prints that are better than files taken with a Nikon D300 a couple of years ago.
A truly outstanding camera.
Congrats for the good work, sorry for me asking, i always wonder how you decide which sets are in and which are out, i could easily list a few more that should be in, but for some reason if now find the list too limited, could you for instance at leas list the others, and briefly mention why they are not in?
In other words; your review title suggests yo list the super zooms, but you don't.
Still congrats for the review
too bad the pirce tag is way too high, iwould be nr 1 in the line. For a photographer, this one simply comes close to perfection as back up.
great, great price too...
I would think DPR readers can get over their Apple itch. Ok this article is only about an Apple add, but i'm sure you'll find an Adnroid look a like in minutes.
Anyhow, its actually a silly but good idea, you can even use your phone for this. I just can' find too many situations where i would need such a low power light. Outside it won't work as the sun is much brighter, and inside a more powerfull light source is usually somewhere around.
So, nah, useless app.
So after all he is saying nothing....
get serious, buy a phone
hmm, still a 1/1.7, the line up is overloaded, will this one still fit in? I wonder.
It has it all for the enthousiasts, external controls, buttons etc, but the 1/1.7 does not create enough bokeh, pitty.
Ricoh has design offices in Japan, maufacturing of the GR in japan, low end in China (CX/PX).
Where is the design/manufacturing of Pentax located?
I only hope that the niche Ricoh market will be allowed to continu, (GRD,GXR)
and i hope the UI remains the Ricoh type.
REmember the Ricoh design group is soo small, they can hardly bring foreward 2 lenses a year, so Pentax taking over is actually a good sign to me.
argh, the price is way too high...
Teh rpic eof th eQ must drop, so the K-01 can be lowered
its almost same size as the K-5?
The design is indeed bud ugly to me, but, if the camera performs, i don't care hwat it looks like, the Fuji X-100 is an aesthetical beauty and attracted lots of customers before it was on the market... lots of them selling the X-100 now.
The others, should we read this as, those who do not sponsor us?
First of all ,congrats in trying to set up for the first time some kind of category system for mirrorless, this group seems to grow and grow, i wonder which types are sold the most, so we could anaylse why it grows, is it because it looks like a PxS, hence gaining PxS members, or, is it because it has superb Q in a small body, and winning DSLR members?
I agree the others are a class on their own, so can we expect a new review for those? For instance; the GXR+M vs a Leica, a GH2 vs some video cameras?
