I'm a long-time amateur photographer who largely takes pictures of friends and on trips. I like to make photo books on Shutterfly and inflict them on my friends. My primary camera is a Leica M-8, but I also use an excellent Sony R-1 and a very reliable Canon Powershot point and shoot. I plan to photograph the American West when I can find the time. I'm much less interested in the technical aspects of photography than the finished result -- does the photo 'grab' me? I shoot JPEGs and almost never use Photoshop except to crop. For me, the 'decisive moment' is the exposure, not the post-processing.
